That they are. Nitro RS4 EVO3's, mine is a little upgraded from stock, with a new suspension setup and replaced the rotostart with a pullstart unit (don't like the idea that the roto will go flat before I run out of jungle juice!). The shell's are 190mm HPI honda NSX's (roadgoing version), and painted up by me, so Eliot won't be getting one of those anytime soon ;)

Never EVER do a static run if it's what I assume it means (idling through a tank). You need to heatcycle the engine to run it in not let it sit for ages at a low temperature.

Theres lots of pro's and cons about this from what I've read. Oh well, done now. TBH theres no way I would want to try and run it the way it was sounding on the first tank :eek: it had just started to loosen up by the end of the second.

Am I wrong for liking wheel controllers? I went to sticks years back but picking up a wheel again felt much better :o

Yes, you are oh, oh so wrong. If sticks are good enough for the world champion 1/10th scale saloon, then they are good enough for me. Only the dumbass yanks (and now the French for some reason :confused:) use wheels ;)
 
I prefer sticks myself but I came to cars from planes so it feels more natural. Though it still feels weird only being able to move each stick in 1 dimension.

Only a budget comp one, Futaba 6EXA. It does the job alright but I still want a better one, don't even have heli mixes. :(

I want the Futaba 14MZ bad though. Runs Windows CE, takes compact flash cards, PCM 2048, lithium ion onboard battery, touch screen. Its the daddy of Tx's.
 
Sorry to dig this thread up again but I know Firestar and Paradigm can help.

Oily residue down the exhaust side of the body shell. Running too rich or normal? My Kyosho nitro buggy had the exhaust coming out of the bottom so I have no idea if thats normal or not :o

I haven't had a chance to 'properly' tune it yet as I haven't had the chance to get into a BIG car park without speed bumps. I hit full throttle and before I know it I'm heading for the curb :eek: It sounds ok at full whack but I can't guage any changes in speed. I'm just a bit concerned running it too rich whilst I play about with my drift tyres (absolutly awesome when I got the hang of them) before I get the chance to get down the warehouse on a sunday afternoon.
 
Really need a temp gun to work out if that is normal for the conditions or not, mine give me a fine layer of oil down the exhaust side of the shell, it should be obvious that it is there, but not dripping.

If it is really thick, lean it out a little.
 
Yea a little oil down the shell is fine imho, i have a temp gun and anything around 250 - 270f means its running about right.

Think you can pick up a gun for 15 - 20 on e-bay.
