Got GRID on release day having enjoyed the demo, so I knew I'd like the full release...but I didn't realise how much I would enjoy it!

If anyone isn't sure about it then give the demo a go, or rent it...but you need to give it a good few hours to really start to get to grips with the handling. Once that happens the racing is fast, intense and exciting.

have had some amusing races online tonight. When you get a good group of people it's fun. Did a lot of open wheel which is actually v good. Had one 12 player 24 hours of le mans race and everyone except for 2 people were wrecked in the first lap :D. Also had a game where my car could only turn right if the handbrake was applied, otherwise even at full lock right it would still turn left :D Was the last person left in the race and all i had to do was finish the lap to win... ended up wrecked though

Was fairly undecided about buying it due to weird handling but I'm glad I did. Think the demo could possibly have been more appealing with a different euro track / car

Totally agree, I thought the demo was some kind of joke when I first played it.

Then gave it a few more races in muscle car and I love it now.

Might pick it up today actually...

Must say first 10 mins I thought it was a joke and turned it off. gave it another go few days back in the muscle cars, turned the driving aids off and quite enjoyed it :)

haven't tried it with the G25 yet but think I might have to purchase today!

They have adjusted the handling since the demo slightly!
I'm disapointed that there's a certain lack of options though for multiplayer, which need to be addressed.

Does the handling magically get better with time then?

It does kind of grow on you, and I'm enjoying the full game much more than the demo.

It's strange, the different disciplines feel like they are running on massively different physics engines. For example, the Drift events, Japanese tuner battles, open wheelers and Demolition Derby physics feel great (in an arcade way), and are loads of fun. On the other hand, the Muscle cars and touring cars feel bloody awfull......

It was the same story with DiRT :/

12-player online Demolition Derbys are awesome fun though :D

I played it for a few hours last night, i really didnt notice any difference in handling from the first race to the last, its fairly easy, the first race ive got to where its tough to win is the Le Mans 24 hour race, where i gave up.

well what difficulty are you playing on? Make it harder if it's too easy (unless you're already on full :))... What I like about the career structure in GRID is that I don't feel pressured to win the race. I only restart races if I do something stupid like answer the phone half way through, otherwise I'll just accept the position I get. The continual nature of it works pretty well I think.

but there are other options which make it harder for you, i.e. pro mode and no assists. Always play locked to head cam as well personally - much more fun than other views

I find there isn't much difference in what difficulty you play on, the a.i cars are never far behind.

Yeh, im playing it on hard, its good fun, and as you say Zogger, you dont feel much pressure to replay due to the nature of the game, the most fun ive had was the open wheel cars at Donnington, the cornering being so much better than the road cars, i loved the demo derby races as well, i was heading for a win went over the last jump and got wiped out.

Its a great game, im looking forward to unlocking more varying classes of vehicles, its what impresses me most (like the last few toca games), i get bored of driving games very easily, but the variety of vehicles is great.

hi

ok although i did not like the demo i might try the full version from what people have been saying , just one thing is it best with all driving aids on or off?

cheers

To be honest I prefer this to GT5 Prologue. Better handling and more fun all round and graphically better as well.

I'm playing the Ps3 version BTW.
