RD: GRID is certainly a grower!

i too hated the demo when i first played it. I persisted and came to like it once i got used to the arcady handling.

Just bought the full game today and i'm loving it so far. Very intense racing and some awesome accidents lol

First to say LOL :D

sorry

What you find the complete lack of physics affecting the cars in GT5 good??? Sorry but the physics model in GT5 is rubbish, it looks shiny (literally) while Grid looks more gritty and like the cars have been used for something not driven straight from the photo shopped pages of a magazine.

Admittedly the physics in Grid compared to the likes of GTR1/2, Race and rFactor and even Forza 2 are not great but they are a damn sight better than GT5s.

you mean the damage model is better surely? there's more to physics than bits falling off the cars lol

No I mean the way it simulates the tyres, suspension, engine, road surface etc. The damage model has little bearing on the physics model until they start to simulate the vital bits getting damaged or dropping off. I am talking about how the cars handle.

What driving aids are you lot using, I have been playing on Serious and not touched the driving aids and dont find it too challenging at times.

It was more to say that GRID's 'handling' is appalling, compared to most racing games, whether arcade or sim.

For such a big game, I cant think of many others which are worse in terms of how the car goes round a track. They have no weight or real feeling they are connected to the road in any shape or form.

Ok we are talking about the same thing as it is the simulation of all the factors ie the physics which influence the handling feel. On the PS3 with the Dual Shock 3 it handles, feels whatever you want to call it better to me than GT5 which hasn't really changed in the way that handles or feels since GT2/3.

Anyway I find it enjoyable to play, and will see how it feels with the wheel in a bit.
