RD: GRID is certainly a grower!

Did everyone hate the demo? I loved it. :p I really enjoyed the Mustang race. Trying to get around the last lap with your demolished car was awesome. I really liked the handling as well. I've always been more of an arcade racer than a sim racer (by arcade I mean PGR3/4, not NFS and what not) and this more than fits the bill. I think I'm going to have to pick it up on the PC (unfortunately) as I don't fancy buying another game for my brother. :p

If the full game is even better than the demo, then I'm going to be a very happy chappy.

No I mean the way it simulates the tyres, suspension, engine, road surface etc. The damage model has little bearing on the physics model until they start to simulate the vital bits getting damaged or dropping off. I am talking about how the cars handle.

seriously are you 13 and have never driven a car?
only reason anyone could think grid simulates anything remotely close to real driving

I'm a seasoned race "simmer", GP Legends veteran, r factor, GTR, Gran Turismo series, PGR and Forza all played to death and quite frankly GRID is in excusable.

PGR is arcadey but remains playable because there is a degree of semblance with reality and the experience remains constant allowing the player to adjust.

GRID gives you no feel what so ever, and to cap it all it cannot even be consistent in feel from one corner to the next. As has been said before the BMW is the worst of all, it pivots on the centre axis and has no centre of mavity.

A very very well presented game with a great career mode, well thought out but then completely murdered by its own inability to do the basics right.

A frustrating expereince to say the least. Its in MM tomorrow if anyone wants it cheap.

With all due respect, you are either talking about something other than game physics and are a little mixed up, or you are playing GRID with your feet.

I'm enjoying this on PC. It's hard to walk away with races, the sounds and visual are great and the cars have a general feel to what you expect. It's no sim, never will be. But for a pick up and bast racer it's very refreshing for me. No BS tuning crap, just pick up and play.

I'm sorry I didn't realise that I'm not allowed to have an opinion and that I must never have driven a car...yeah I'm 13 oh hang on a sec no I'm not I'm 34 and have owned 20 odd cars and driven a damn sight more than that.

Did I say it simulates anything close to real driving? No i said that I, as in me not anybody else, prefer the way the cars handle to GT5 Prologue. I have disliked for a long time how the GT series cars handle but has it stopped me buying them or playing them to death? No as they are fun to play as thats all this is is play. So try getting of your high bloody horses.

If you want to try something which is better than most then try NetKar Pro as that has a very good physics engine and decent force feedback, but no games, particularly console based, are every going to properly simulate driving as they would manage to kill one thing really really quickly...THE FUN.

Seriously, who give's a stuff about realism!!!!?

GRID isn't a sim game, and nor does it set out to be one from the off. It's a fun arcade racer, pure and simple.

If you want sim, go play Borza Motorsport 2 or the GT series or whatever it's called. Sim is BORING, arcade is FUN...and that's all I want in a racer.

It's quite funny if you look in the PC thread. It's just pages and pages of people asking how to fix this problem, or change this setting. It seems like more time is modding the game than actually playing it. :p Nothing can beat a console for ease of play.

The handling is crap even as an arcade game though, that's the point that most people who don't like it are trying to make. Not that it's a bad sim.

Other thing is I've never played an arcade game that lets you change TC, ABS, ASM etc. either. It's like it doesn't know what it wants to be.

your all to picky, Ps3 owners love it, Pc owners love it, majority of 360 owners hate it, probably because it ain't got machine guns on the front or something so instantly they get confused. Its a fun game regardless of how it feels or trys to do what it does. Certainly having more fun with this than a lot of other racing games or games that try to have decent car handleing according to others like the cars in GTA4.

It's because 360 owners have enough games to choose from so they don't have to force themselves to play mediocre games.

there's never enough games, of all the near 300 odd games theres only 7/8 that i actually own and are worth keeping, i would call that a lot of medicore games, mostly of which are 1st person shooters, hence my comment
