I think they will price the 7900XTX around 1,300 and make the 4080 DOA. It also makes sense why nvidia went ahead with 4090 but delayed 4080 launch indicating they are confident the 4090 will compete well with AMD but the 4080 won't.

4080 is already DOA.. It will be on life support for first 2 weeks then flatline after the FOMO ends and then watch how quickly they get returned for something else or sold on.
I think Nvidia will launch the 4080 Ti at that point. The gap between the 4080 and 4090 is wide enough to slot in a 4080 Super and a 4080 Ti. That's on purpose I guess.

Definitely seems that way, clearly weren't happy with how close the 3080 was to the 90, the cannibalisation of them precious margins!

If AMD pressure Nv on pricing I half expect them to immediately introduce a 4080Ti to take the 4080 pricing and the 4080 thjey'll drop down to the $899 old 12GB price (just before they launch ofc). I think that high 4080 price is just baiting AMD to match them tbh, and if they decide not to then the drop will come.

Well I said they won't make that mistake again and the real 3080 should have been on GA103 as is the real 4080 on AD103, they ended up using GA103 as 3080ti laptop gpus because AMD threw a spanner in their works.

Also I said Nvidia made the mistake of allowing NVLINK on 3090/ti (really should have been a TitanA and TitanAx) but they learned that lesson and gave us a 4090 that's now neutered without NVLINK.. The pro users loved their mistake with the 3090/ti's :D ;).

Now Nvidia has upset pro users that pool VRAM and cuda cores and won't be updating to a single 4090 for work purposes that need more than 24GB VRAM. Nvidia's loss really....

Impressive how they managed to keep everything under wraps. I was expecting some leaked benchmarks at least a couple of hours before the event.

I think this too that's why they are not released at the same time as the 4090, normally it always was XX80 class card first then the others, 30 series they did both 90 and 80 class same time and now 40 series they start right at the top 4090, why you have to ask yourself .. well why because waiting for AMD to show their hand and then can price manipulate their 4080 back in line and then release a 4080ti/super to stick the knife into AMD and their range.

I think they learned from last gens mistakes, clearly Nvidia knew what AMD had with the 6000 series and why they changed their cards all up a tier, 3080 was never meant to be on GA102 but on GA103, but Nvidia clearly got leaks from AMD and altered their cards and the GPUs they were on originally.

Last time they announced the 3060Ti around this time ready for its December launch. Currently we have no idea about the 4070.

We will know very soon I think, basically a cut down AD104 even more than the fake 4080 12GB and the fake 4080 12GB will turn into a 4070Ti or 4075 new class name card or we may see ULTRA make a comeback.
