to be honest could see a lot of them being reserved for amd 7000 cpu builds with ddr5 lol
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.
I suspect, and have seen admissions, that a lot of the problems are down to users not knowing what they are doing. I've always kept my BIOS, chipset and OS up-to-date and you know what? No major issues, very few minor ones either. There are also people like the Win7 holdouts or bleeding edge tinkerers who will obviously get issues. Any idiot can buy a PC, they sold one to me...yet to experience that have build on windows 11 with the 5700xt also have system with 3080 no issues either
if you google can find people with issues on nvidia doesnt mean its wide spread, I think its becoming a myth for people who havent used AMD
I’ll be amazed if the top card is much less than $1499 to be honest.
Nvidia gave them a massive opening to charge pretty much what they want, and they aren’t above rinsing the consumer for all they have. They know the top end isn’t particularly price sensitive.
What will be interesting is if they have anything at 7800/7900 non XTX levels at under a grand…
Not true as was seen with the $2000 3090ti that ended up almost half the price for the FE model as people were not going to be taken for a $2k ride. Once the FOMO crowd has been used up and normally first 2-4 weeks the sales fall off a cliff as we saw.
I buy high end and not willing to pay double what they are really worth anymore and especially in times with no world issues, 30 series was another matter and really needed an update and the world was a mess then, there is no excuses now for the silly pricing of high end as we are seeing now, they will soon come down as what happened to the 3090ti the market can't sustain such prices and as we have seen 4090s are sat in stock everywhere and have been since day one, reason being the price is not acceptable for them in this time and age and shortages are a thing of the past now too.
Then this...People also don't want to have to pay out for a new PSU. If AMD come up with something close to the 4090, at 350w, and charge a bit less, that's a pretty decent result.

trying not to get too excited. feel like it's going to be more than i was hoping for, especially if they're got something that performs8pm, and my first reaction
Not quite, they lost because there was no way to get their products at MSRP whereas it was possible (incredibly difficult but possible) to get a 3080 at £650 which was overall a better product than the 6800XT and cheaper (due to them having no UK outlet so all AMD cards were marked up by £200+) with better features (RT, DLSS 2.0).They lost marketshare last time around with comparable products at comparable prices so maybe it's time for a different approach.

I can remember them from way back in the mists of time but haven't owned an AMD card since 2015. I'm just parroting the feedback here but I certainly wouldn't be concerned about buying AMD on the basis of drivers. What about the black screen issues with Windows 11, they had to fix it, AMD are notorious for black screen issues.
For a hefty price!!Lisa: I provide the CPUs sometimes.
If the 7900xt ends up being better than the 4090, all Nvidia fans will call it atiedeny.
