Reacher - Amazon TV series 2022

I've watched 3 episodes of Reacher.

They've pretty much nailed the character but there's something a bit off about the series. It just seems to be a bit dull in places?

Maybe padded out too much?

Perhaps it would have been better at 4 episodes per book, and then do two books to start with.

Binged it last night/this morning - pretty good overall, some very VERY ropey CGI in Ep8 and a little it "seen it all before" as an overall wrap-up for the series TBF. Looking forward to what comes next.

Didn't think it was boring at all.

Aye, I did the same, have just finished it and I thought it was decent. Can't say I specifically noticed the CGI you're referring to. The lead, Alan Ritchson isn't the best actor but I think he's done a reasonable job and the overall casting worked well.

It was nice to have an entire series based on one book, too often these series compress things far too much.

I did chuckle at

"I've had better"

i thought it was very good let hope it get a second season.

saw what i though was a surprise for fan of JR Book.
episode 8 at 44m 34s mark as reacher enters the dinner, the man he bumps into look awful lot like "lee child" not 100% sure but considering he had a cameo in JR:NBD it not impossible he had a cameo in this too

Its ok, a bit dull , predictable and silly, quite violent in places but somehow not very edgy. A bit like Banshee without breasts and buttocks.

If you'd told me this was from a mainstream American broadcast tv company, Nbc, Cbs etc, I wouldn't have been surprised.

Got through this last night and enjoyed this, I enjoyed the films and this does a good job to feel like completely different with the same character, hopefully it gets renewed.

Like a few people have already said, it's not grabbing me. It's not bad but find it all unrealistic, as if they're in a parallel universe where killing and crime doesn't have any consequences. It's more adult version of A-Team, MacGyver etc

This is actually pretty good, up to Ep 7 now and it captures the feel of the books well in terms of pacing and feel. Would be happy with another couple of seasons, but the books are a bit samey so no more than this.

Yeah, they are the sort of thing I read on holiday.

Even after a few books you start rolling your eyes at yet another strong athletic/slim blonde women that Reacher has met and eventually bedded.

Love the books and loving the series.

Absolutely nailing the feel of the books so far.

Maybe not grabbing me like other series but that's because I know what happens.

I've only read the first three or four books but for me those felt the same as you describe.

I enjoyed the season overall, seemed very based, following the lines, just the amazing amount of mayhem and bodies left lying around the place are interesting.
Guess with the whole thing taking place in less than a week it partially makes sense.

Of course it's unrealistic, it's Reacher. The books are throwaway holiday reading, they're not works of art or in any way a reflection of the real world.

crime doesn't have any consequences.
Reacher doesn't give two hoots about the consequences of his actions, he's a decorated military hero, there are no consequences. Plus, it's brain-switch-off fiction and action.
