15 miles each way. All backroads, so usually takes about 30 mins with traffic etc. I wouldn't want to spend much longer than 30/40 mins going to work everyday..
Personally I wouldn't want to work more than 30mins travel away,
I had a job that was a 45min drive and it sucked especially as my job before that was a 7/8min drive
Currently living the cushy life working 3 days a week, with a 15 minute walk down the canal to work. Not looking forward to getting a job in London, with an hour commute on the trains (i wont be able to afford to move there) and even less money. But it must happen!
Mine is around 34miles each way. Can take over an hour on the way home in the evening. What's more frustrating is the very last 4 miles at night can take the same amount of time as the 30miles i'd just driven
about 50 mins when I am working 9-5, can be done in 40 when it is less busy.
It is a long trip considering I don't go on the motorway but it just isn't any faster due to where I live.
I used to walk to the bus stop, 15 mins on the bus, 20 mins on the train then a 15 min walk again but due to non connecting trains and busses it took over an hour and a half. So glad I don't do that anymore!
It adds up when you think about it. I would like to move closer. >30 mins would be nice.
About 45 miles here, Gourdon to Dyce, takes an hour and a half to get in and the same amount to get home... Good old traffic.
Thank Christ I'm moving back into the city centre in the next couple of weeks.
I have a 80mile round trip each day and have been doing it for 6 months now. To be honest I'm trying to find something closer to home as I'm losing on average of about 3+ hours in travel drives me nuts because 35miles of the drive takes 30mins max then I'm just stuck in stand still traffic going no where for 5 miles.
