Rebel Galaxy Outlaw

Has anyone watched any of the videos done by the devs. The guy doing has a brilliant voice. I could listen to him all day. So calming and fluid :) Mancrush?

I'm diving back in tonight but switching to controller. I give up with M+K (although I haven't tried out the new patches yet)

How does this compare to Elite: Dangerous folks? Is it similar or am I way off track on that?

I've not played Elite yet (even though I bought it and a Hotas to go along with it :p) but I think they're apples and oranges.

Elite is a simulator, and this one is old school arcade like Privateer.

And personally finding both games are sub par compared to X4 or even X:R (which is bit more arcade) if you want something in between with more things to do. Like building your own stations and fleets, when you get bored doing stuff on your own. Or having a dynamic economy where things do not get crafted by magic (X4)

Ok. I switched to using a controller and it's way better :)

I had to change some of the controls to suit me but it's pretty fun now.
Oh and I found the local map which really helped to draw me in. Previously I'd been autopiloting to squares in my HUD now I'm piloting to destinations of my choosing.

Does anybody know if rumours you get from bartenders dissipate after a while?

I got a couple early on in the local system which I didn't investigate for a while and when I go to them now, I can't find a thing.

I think it's more to do with the areas you're working in. If you stay local where the threat levels and police are easier I think you'll start to beat them easily.

Still rather new to the game too so it's guesswork at the moment. mainly taken from following the main mission which pushes out to the further sectors and it got harder. I'm backtracking a bit to 'level up' a bit before going back out.

Oh, I've started this morning and it says it's version 1.09 but the patch notes on their website only says 1.07?
Gotta love their patching speed though :)

Determined to play this with Mouse & Orbweaver but 'Holy Poop' 79 key mappings !!!! Anyone care to let me know what are essential commands and what are less so at least for the early days.

Just started playing this morning. Really enjoying it so far, been using a controller and that's worked well for me :) it's a whole lot like privateer, I keep noticing little "homages" to it like the way the radar looks and the shape of the mines and ship debris :p half expect to see a news story about ea sending them a cease and desist.

This has caught my eye as a nice easy going pick up and play space game versus how grindy things like Elite are. Can't quite work out how good the graphics are from youtube videos, does it look good in motion, also is there Ultrawide support? Is there much in the way of ship customisation?

Graphics are decent, but you look out through a small cockpit view or from behind, and it's quite fast paced so you don't have much time to take it in, as such.

I've shot lots of fighters down but don't have a good handle on what they look like up close for instance.

Photo mode. ;)

3 hours in, enjoying so far.

I struggle with the radar your given at first, I don't like how everything is grey, so struggle with acquiring targets, and find it hard generally to work out what is what in your surroundings.

Otherwise it's good, I can see where the game is going though, grind and scale, but, it's not bad.

I'll probably use this as a warm up and get X4 when it's on offer.
