Rebel Galaxy Outlaw

I struggle with the radar your given at first, I don't like how everything is grey, so struggle with acquiring targets, and find it hard generally to work out what is what in your surroundings.

You can purchase a radar which solves that particular issue.

Have fully upgraded my first ship and have just purchased the next one. Loving it so far. Hooked!

Yeah, I've just done that as well.

It's not much of an upgrade. Slightly quicker, one more weapon mount and slightly more storage.

It's a shame you can't upgrade that to level 3 powerplant/cargo storage/shield. None of the ships seem to be a massive upgrade over the starting vessel though, they all have compromises - generally to do with manoeuvrability or cargo space.

Oooo, that's good news re new ships.

I didn't have much time to check as I turned off after getting the new ship but it looks like you loose whatever ship you had before and it moves all the equipment you had over to the new ship.

damn it....... you guys have got me really interested in this game..... I just dont think i would get hooked without it being in VR though.... :(

definitely going to keep an eye on it however and probably pick up in a sale.

Bought this on Saturday and found I'm playing the pool game in the bar more than the actual space bit of the game!

Good to see that the epic launcher didn't burn my house down or spill my pint either.

I'm gonna skip the second ship (100k one) and go straight to the 3rd ship that's 107k see what happens. I've very nearly got the cash for it grinding basic missions.

I quite like the idea of going pirate, the only thing I find in some of these types of games is doing that just makes it very difficult with little reward and possibly miss out content.

We'll see.

This has caught my eye as a nice easy going pick up and play space game versus how grindy things like Elite are. Can't quite work out how good the graphics are from youtube videos, does it look good in motion, also is there Ultrawide support? Is there much in the way of ship customisation?

Yes, it has UW support out of the box.

Graphics are decent, but you look out through a small cockpit view or from behind, and it's quite fast paced so you don't have much time to take it in, as such.

I've shot lots of fighters down but don't have a good handle on what they look like up close for instance.

In the first ship, the only difference UW made (in ship) was to add more metal, ie no extra space view.

In the second ship however, with its wider screen, you get to see more space. :)

Why do you need to do this?

Just adjust the settings on the launcher screen, along with all the other graphical settings.

I was getting screen issue and couldn't set the res to full screen this is away around it.

If I'm honest with you played the game for 30mins and hate it lol its just not for me.

I just bought the Cayote, although I don't have the cash to properly kit it out yet. Sandhawk is a much improvement over the bin lorry you get first, but you can only go to level 2 equipment, so if you try and use the more fancy energy weapons you just burn through your energy. I quite like the projectile weapons anyway though which is what I am using now.

I think I played about 10 hours now the game is fun although it's getting a little grindy I am finding.

I think I will go pirate once I've upgraded this ship sufficiently.

Mining can bring you in a nice chunk of money. ;)

Just upgraded to the big momma ship (can't remember the name) and went mining in it.
Left everything that wasn't at least worth 4k, so travelled to the nearest port to sell off 34 tons of good stuff and got waylaid by about 10 pirates and 2 pirate frigates.

Boom.
Dead.
40 minutes of careful mining wasted...

Apart from that Alt-F4 rage quit, mining has been good to me :) I've even started looking on the map for potential mining belts not showing up automatically.

Ouch! not good. Yeh, that's a good shout looking on the map for potential mining resources.

Fair play to the devs.

For a five man team, they sure have been quick to update the game with patches.

They definitely seem very invested in their creation, which is refreshing in this fire and forget industry. Hopefully the game does well, and they have the incentive to add more ships and content!
