Rebrand Fail?

I'll try running the same clocks on one 290X for a bench. I don't think my Elpida memory will hit the clocks, though.

Will do in doing the same on my crossfire 290x 8gb's and have them at the Mai gaming 390x clocks 1100mhz / 1550mhz.

Both mine have elpedia memory.

£180 - £200.... you are really joking right ? These card compete with the GTX 980 which is still £400.... why would they sell them at half the price.

£180-£200 is not a realistic price at all, even for the 390 (non-X).

but if it was re-branded a 380X - it should be sold according to its mid/high end market place. 290x - £220 now with these new cards those prices should have fell, but i believe the contrary will happen thanks to the re-brand. if it was correctly re-branded as a 380x it should have not been priced a penny more then £200. after all the 290*non x* i've seen for £175 new.

I think the 390 looks like a pretty good deal, especially in crossfire. One would probably be ideal for me, but I would have to see more reviews on the thermals as that was one area that put me off the 29x cards. The MSI 390x review had OK thermals, so I hope the gigabyte g1 is better. If not, I will probably go for the nano.

BUT its not a straight rebrand. OK its the same GPU under the hood... but its cooler, its clocked higher and has more memory and it look to outperform the gtx 980...

OK no one with the GTX 980 would swap to it as the performace difference is neglagible but someone coming from a GTX 680 or 7950/7970 could be look at these cards.... so the 390X is still cheaper than the GTX980 and it outperforms it so yea people will buy that over the 980 unless of course Nvidia fan boi

Disclaimer : im not an AMD fan boi I buy whatever the best card is on the market at the time. Ive been waiting for the Fury X card simple to see if they compete with the 980ti / titan x
