According to NHK the major warning has now been downgraded but warns that waves of upto 3m may still hit.

The intensity scale Japan uses is different to the Richter scale, it only goes up to 7 which is the maximum intensity.

It's almost like you're disappointed that there isn't widespread destruction and death.

I didn't expect much of a tsunami compared to the 2011 one, the quake itself just seems to be weaker than that was for, also this one was located much closer to land, so there is more damage to buildings from the shaking than 2011, it's just a different type of damage

We should all know by now that Greta Thunberg dictates the weather. Why did the Japan quake happen? Because Greta said so. Why did it hit 40C in the UK in the summer of 2022? Because Greta said so.

Anyway, I hope everyone affected have found safety and no further damage caused, although there will bound to be some after shocks (smaller quakes) over the coming days. I saw the video from @Neil79 taken in the multi-storey with the car alarms going off and that was pretty scary. I don't think I would have had my phone out filming it.
