I agree with the OP - however, hot receptionists with a decent neck line makes turning up for an appointment SO much more pleasant.

Previous place I worked at didn't have a dress code and there were a few occasions where I'd visited vendors (as a client) and got treated like dirt by the receptionist until my account manager or some sales guy popped into reception to meet me.
Simply being dressed in t-shirt and jeans was seemingly enough for them to assume you're there to fix the photocopier not to attend a meeting/presentation as a potential/current customer the sales guy/account manager is trying to be super nice to.
