you must download that mod for it. you'll never look back ;)
Project Reality is great and I love it but it ain't fast paced and much slower than BF2.

Indeedy, too slow. MOH for me is the perfect balance of fast paced action/aim and tactics. I fail to see anything fully replacing it :(

jesus, i just downloaded dd3 hangtime. damn quakeworld looks good from the days when i used to hop on and play at 320x200 in software mode as term :)

i still have fond memories of e4m3, badass map!

what package are they using to get the graphics looking that good in dd3. anyone know?

If you want a fast paced game with lots of enemies (seriously stupid amounts in later levels) then get Serious sam 1 or 2.

Some of the levels on that are just stupid (but fun).

Any idea's on how the multiplayer is with SS1 or 2? I havn't played it for many years, seems to look like a cross between WoW and Doom :D

i truly love people that insist a game is harder than they think because those other people can't possibly have played a real game or really be good. the fact is that rushing does work, in basically every single situation. there are some balances to be had, sometimes you see the room ahead has 10 guys to kill and you realise you are on your own so you choose a different route. but a good play simply changes his route, rushes around the back and catches them offguard from somewhere they aren't expecting. yes some rounds you want to get to certain positions and ambush people depending on their tactics. but never EVER have i once seen in any match the stupid little guy doing crouch walking around the whole map on his own sneaking around win consistantly. its a terrible tactic, leaves you on your own being attacked and vunerable from all sides, it slows the game down and if its the last guy left and takes a while to find is incredibly irritating. the main reason rushing works is so SO many people are simply so scared of dying that you run into a room of 10 enemies and on lie, every time 5 will turn and run because they don't want to die yet. the chaos of people running everywhere evens up the odds a lot and a GOOD player can take 2-3 out, maybe 5. to many people think staying alive to the end of a round is winning, so many people want a 5-1 rather than a 15-10 score because they are idiots.

Ok then buddy, try doing that in CPL or CAL and come back and tell me how you did. Walking gives you many advantages, namely sound. If I hear you running around trying to rush people I simply walk for a few seconds, listen out for where you are, and I would hide and pop out when you happen to walk down my corridor/path.

Please tell me how you can rush when you have a flashbang in your face? Do you still run in blindly into 3/4/5 people?

Sorry but I don't think you have grasped playing this game on a competitive level yet. I don't mean to cause an argument but claiming that I think a game is harder than it really is just annoys me. Do you play in competition?

It definately is a cross between WoW and doom, those running men with bombs for heads that screamed use to make me pee pee myself :p

lol drunkenmaster that some is dribble

I use to play in a lot of leagues in the prem divisions and no way is "rushing" a valid tactic just cos. A well orchestrated rush works yes, but by all means never on your own. Also people in a proper match do not "turn and run away" they are there to defend and as such are usually in a better position. People run away on noob servers where people still havent worked out the mouse is for aiming.

Also as logic zero said sound is proberly the most important thing in the game. I use to be banned from servers for hacks because I would stand still and just slowly move around so I could pick up on player noises. Means I have one hell of an advantage if they dont know I am waiting or close by! And I can assure you that it works ;)

Warsow is fairly fast paced, it's a free game, which is a mix of UT/Quake physics and movement.

It's quite good for a quick mess around but UT2004 is better.

I don't see how the BF series are a fast paced FPS?

Indeed, how can you say that.

I don't need a tactics spam war please. Depending on the game you play you either rush to win or camp with AWPS *cough CS*

Camping and walking slowly make games boring slow and tedious IMO so please no more css, bf2 recommendations.

Been playing quite a bit of warsow I like it, the guns feel a bit pap mainly the Rl doesnt seem very effective. The duels are awesome tho once you get hang of it ;)

I play it almost every night! still a good few popular servers around, it keeps me happy.

MOH and SOF2 are very similar games, I do love the exploding body parts on SoF2 though :D

May have to install that again, not played it for aages.

No idea lol I never played it online. I can just remember playing one level and you just kept getting pounded with enemy after enemy (something like 8 of these huge spider thingies one after the other)

CS:S may be a slower paced game, but when you get to the stage where your playing regualrly with a team, and getting decent 5v5 games, it improves a lot from public.
It is a slow paced game, but to be good as a team you need to get timings perfect, and it can turn into quite a fast paced game.
Quake 4 and CS:S are the two more popular FPS games, along with COD2 i think in terms of competitive play.
If your just gonna play public id go for a faster paced game than source, but if you like playing in a team it is a great game.

Do that, gimme a shout on Xfire if you do, might come and kill you afew hundred times if your lucky :p

ins0mniac1 on xfire.

I played MOHAA for years in a couple fairly well known American/Canadian sniper only clans. I found it rather difficult moving on.
I played a bit of COD and then a lot of COD2 afterwards.
My friend made me buy BF2 but I didn't really like it. I found it too slow. Recently though, I've started playing it a lot more but only on infantry only servers. It's much faster paced than regular servers and will tide me over until COD4, MOH:Airborne and Quake Wars is released.
