Recommendation for usbc nvme enclosure

Actually been looking at these (40Gbs)
Though for a windows PC not apple
Though shouldn't make any difference really

So far the top contender to me anyway seems to be
GRAUGEAR USB 4.0 Enclosure
Does have a 30mm fan
Though apparently it's almost inaudible
And looks like some sort of heat pipe too

Though at 97 quid its more expensive than ugreen
Which is currently on offer for 70 quid
Think the graugear is shipping from Europe
As 4 days delivery

40Gbps enclosures are quite pricey
Actually wondered if was better value to just
Buy something like a crucial x10
Runs at approx 2GBs
Whereas am expecting 40Gbps enclosures to do
Around 3GBs
Though really not sure things like x10 pro will have
The endurance/tbw to match a m2 nvme drives?

My concern re: any unit with a fan is longevity, when dust accumulate over time which will then add noise. Being small, built-in, it will not be easy to clean or replace. So it will get more noisy over time.
Yeah that's a valid point
It does look like a decent lump of aluminium
And some sort of heat pipe
May work fine without the fan

Reluctant to buy now though
As black Friday isn't far away
Even if the enclosure doesn't go down in price then
It's pretty certain whatever m2 I want to shove in it
Will be discounted for black Friday

My current mindset is waiting it out until black friday and looking for a decent nvme and enclosure bundle. I have my DAS, so storage isn't massively pressing. I may or may not also be looking at the odyssey G9 monitor like it's a nice idea. lol

After sleeping on it for a couple of days, I went for the OWC enclosure. I thought if I am going to stick a heatsink on it...I will just get one with a heatsink as the enclosure.
Are you moving the nvme from the SABRENT you already have? Be interesting to see how much you notice the difference.

Talking of differences, your new avatar is confusing me. It's really not you ;)

The Sabrent has a Samsung 990Pro 2TB inside. I will likely use that. I will just keep the Sabrent as spare or put a WD Blue nvme in there if there is a good deal on Black Friday.

The new Avatar looks grumpy, like "why are you looking at me? Hands off my food."

Anyway, I won't be ordering until at least January, no rush at all. At minimum I want to see some more real world feedback and reviews. I already have everything else (monitor, keyboard, mouse, storage).

OWC enclosure arrived, it is a weighty little thing. The solid block of metal does feel quality and makes the Sabrent feel like a toy.
