Red Bull intake...

On a night out in a club, I'll have about 6 jaeger bombs minimum. At a friends house once we had a bottle of jaeger and 5 cans of relentless each, it was a good night :D
I tend not to drink the stuff casually though.

I used to have a bottle of lucozade and a bar of tesco value plain chocolate a day.

Sugar is farrr more effective at keeping you awake & alert.

Caffeine just stops you from sleeping, which is why I plan on having a can of relentless in about 5 hours.

It tastes like liquid chemicals, and people have died after drinking it, due to the high caffeine deydrating you at a crazy rate, but the brain being tricked into thinking you're hydrated. That amount of caffeine shames an Espresso lol.

Are you sure about that? I thought the limit for stimulant drinks was 32mg/100ml, which would limit a 250ml can to 80mg of caffeine and a 500ml can to 160mg. That's pretty much the same as a single and double shot of espresso, which is pretty much the same as 1 or 2 mugs of coffee.

I don't drink Red Bull because I think it smells like very cheap perfume and tastes like I'd expect very cheap perfume to taste, but I do drink similar stimulant drinks which sell for less than a quarter of the price of Red Bull and which taste and smell like a drink. From the brief looking into it that I did, they're basically the same as a mug of coffee apart from the bucketloads of sugar (so I drink the ones with other sweeteners, not sugar).

tried red bull once, was disgusting :(
don't really drink any caffine, is this bad for you?

It's a stimulant drug that has several effects on your brain and thus on the rest of your body. It'll kill you in large enough quantities. It's physically addictive because it affects dopamine production.

So no, not using it isn't bad for you. Using it in sensible quantities isn't bad for you either - your body can process it, the effects of sensible quantities aren't huge and it's not a drug you can easily build a dangerous tolerance to.

I tried it once and didn't like it. Haven't bothered trying other energy drinks as they are probably the same.

No, they aren't. Red Bull is very distinctive.

EDIT: In terms of smell and taste. Others are much the same in terms of ingredients.

I used to drink one can before football until i read the can and despite being "stimulation for body and mind" they recommend you don't drink it before exercise lol

Can't touch it, it makes me physically puke, not immediatley but an hour or 2 later. this is after 1 can or glass of any energy drink.

I think my stomach says 'if you think I'm letting that stuff through, you can run up a shoot'

I treat myself to an energy drink once or twice a month, I genuinely enjoy the taste. I don't buy Red Bull though, as it is a total rip off and doesn't taste as good as Monster or Relentless.

Drank 4 litres of the Sainsbury's own equivalent in one night once on a Civilization 4 session... good God I felt strange.

I probably have maybe 2 cans of either red bull or monster energy a month at the most. I do love the taste of both Red Bull and monster (green is my favourite) and they do perk me up but I find I can crash quite hard afterwards.

Dont drink anything with caffeine and especially would not touch red bull, I refuse to put a single penny into vettels wages.

Plus, this idiocy made me lol.

Jesus... I go through 24 of the standard sized tins a month (Costco ***), with a few of the huge cans thrown in during the week when I'm at work on lunch.

I find relentless to be horrible, same with monster.

I drink about 4 or 5 of the cheap clones a day. Either the 35p cans from the newsagent or emerge, blue charge, etc etc. All good.

Wonder how many folk in this topic suffer from anxiety :D and will probably suffer from heart attacks later on in life.

Don't ever touch the stuff, the occasional diet coke is about as far as it goes for stimulants as I don't drink coffee or tea.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I was on 2 or 3 cans every day, along with Lattes from Nero when at work. For the last 2 weeks I've been on a no-carb, high-protein diet and have drank nothing but water. Quite startling how much calmer and relaxed I feel, and I've lost a stone.

Conclusion: Energy drinks & too much coffee is bad m'kay.
