Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4, Xbox and PC Hopefully)

PS4 has raised the bar for controls for it’s AAA first party games such as Uncharted, HZD, Spider-Man. Those games just play like a dream from the get go whereas this not so much. If it wasn’t R* it would be getting slated for its controls tbh. Gonna have to really work to get totally immersed into this due to the controls. HZD isn’t going to be beaten visually this gen either imo. Character models far more detailed and more facial animations.

Though I’m finding the hdr decent on this on a Samsung KS8000. Brilliant tv that just works with hdr brilliantly. Those having problems must be down to the tv. Though it does suffer from the Vaseline effect on the pro which is very surprising.

Enjoying it though and looking forward to when it finally “opens-up” when it all clicks and syncs like the great open world games do.

I agree on the control issues. Even with changing layouts and tweaking them as previously suggested it's like controlling a tank at times and quite frustrating. There are other issues I have with the game, minor ones though that would probably be considered nit-picking as overall I've enjoyed what I've played so far.

Any of you guys managed to get the companion app on your phones? Any good? Useful?

Tried downloading on iOS on iPhone and doesn’t seem to want to work.

I'm doing the missions around Camp Heartwood and Valentine at the moment and loving it, amazing game.

Probably next time I log in I'll be off hunting for ages :p it's just absurdly detailed and immersive, never played a game before where I just want to see stuff and potter round experiencing the world.

I've only just got home from work! (long boring story) and I've unboxed my Pro and I'm installing Red Dead now.

I'm shattered though. Gonna have to wait to play it.

Got this next to me on the chair now. Got the special edition. Not played yet and probably wont for a day or two. Is it good?
It's unbelievable... all the different character interactions, and the rag doll physics have also been improved , even when you knife someone the cuts show up where you have hit them , the attention to detail is quite simply the best I've ever seen in a game.

Just a quick tip, the longer you press up on the D Pad, the longer your whistle for your horse.

Short Press: Short whistle
Longer Presses: Longer whistles.

Looks great on the ps4 pro with hdr imo.

HDR makes the screen to bright and washed out, plus is making the blur worse for a boat load of ppl

Also guys, don’t know if you all know this as I accidentally stumbled on this 10 minutes ago. If you double tap L1 when you have handgun in your hand, Arthur spins it before holstering.

How HDR looks can depend on the T.V some implement it better than others.

Was playing this around a mate's earlier on his XBoxOneX and large 4K TV and I have to say it's gotta be the prettiest game I've ever seen on a console. Not going to go out and buy a console and 4K TV just for this one game though, think I'll wait for the PC release.
