*** Red Dead Redemption 2 ***

Surely it's got nothing to do with Piracy whatever they say. If it did then how do games like Witcher3, FarCry5 etc etc justify a PC release.

I reckon it's got more to do with back-handers from console makers in order to sell consoles. Some people will buy a console/upgrade to play certain games.

I think that is a part of it but look how well GTA V did and how much money it still makes on PC with cash shop items. I suspect it's also due to double dipping, I know I have in the past been guilty of getting it on PS and then buying again on PC.

Neither Revolver or Redemption came to PC, why should this be any different?

I would love this to get a PC release, RDR1 is one of my favourite games, it was just incredible, but it never came to PC, despite the hope, and sheer amount of money it was going to make Rockstar, it never happened.

Enough with the RDR2 PC threads, PC centric websites such as PC Gamer keep posting RDR2 news too. Unless there’s a PC release announcement, what’s the point?

RDR1 never came to the PC because it was handled by an external developer (something like that) who did some extremely sloppy coding and porting that over to the PC would be a mission. It's been so long I can't remember what I read years ago tbh. RDR2 I am very sure will come out - it isn't the past anymore and Rockstar are massive compared to back then. I am quite confident they will leave the PC version until last so to tempt folks into triple dipping etc though. It is a tactic that has worked to their advantage in the past.

After being in the crapshow that is GTA Online I'm not even falling for the hype this time so I won't even glance at a preorder. Folks need to remember this is a very different Rockstar that exists now compared to what they were.

When money is involved with something especially considering the huge financial success of GTA 5 on PC, its almost impossible for them to keep it off the pc platform without losing a large chunk of profit. I remember when they said GTA 5 was not coming to PC, we heard nothing for months then they decided to test the waters and they all got stunned big time, more so than ever. But lets not forget, rockstar have a very bad reputation concerning the PC... they have made very childish comments about piracy and mods and never once provided proof to these comments aka claims as far as I'm aware correct me otherwise.

It seems to me red dead redemption 2 will be first tested on consoles and after about 12 months the PC release will be out and superior in almost every way. If the game is really that good I'm just going to pick it up for my PS4 Pro and then later on get it on PC. I will sell my copy on PS4 about a day or two before the PC version releases.

Double dip... ffs I tripled on GTA V... first on the 360, then PS4 and after PC.... :(
Blimey. I hate to think what the performance was like on the 360 given that GTA IV ran at a sketchy 30fps on that hardware. I miss that game more than anything, shame it had such poor pc optimisation.

I bought GTAV on the PS3 at launch and then later the pc version because online on the PS3 was just slow. Imagine my surprise years later when it was just as bad on the PC.

Rockstar seem to have adopted a Ubisoft-esque approach to pre-order / edition bonuses with the console versions of RDR2. I can only hope that when the PC version is released (fingers crossed..), that we can expect a complete edition that doesn't require spending extra money for additional missions and items, and that does away with the pay-to-win nature of the online bonuses. I have my doubts though.

I saw all the numerous editions and their P2W bonuses. I expected better from Rockstar but given that gamers love and succumb to such things nowadays I am not too surprised.

It was quite impressive the performance they got out of it but it was still crap. FPS was crap and really struggled in some places but the worse thing was the pop in, cars, people, traffic lights even buildings had the tendency to jump out at you when driving fast.

Think they realised the market they would be losing out on without a pc release. If it’s confirmed I’ll be waiting for it, no double dipping this time.

Lots of pop up! Was borderline playable.

Still enjoyed it.

Same thing will happen as they did with GTA V, it will release on consoles, then a year+ later it will come to PC.
