Red Dead Redemption 2

Am I the only one here bored with the game ? I got to chapter 3 of the story and then went online to see what that had too offer and spent about 2 days grinding collectables ! I have to say it bored the hell out of me as most of my time was Auto Ride on the Horse to the next location , I then signed up the the Bountie missions with 15gold and again after doing about 10 I found myself bored out my mind again! I've also been online and done a Few shooting games and again after about 10 games it just all feels a bit grindy and samey , I also went fishing for a good few hours and I enjoyed that but found it way too easy , Yes the games Beautiful and looks stunning but I do feel alone in the world and a little bored now, not sure it can keep me interested any longer , may go back and finish the Story mode and see how I feel at the end.

I suspect that being alone in the world is contributing to your feeling alone in the world. I've done over 100 hours now in online mode and its been immensely enjoyable. We all spend hours and hours literally just walking about (walking..not running, riding slowly everywhere on horseback, not sprinting around because nobody would sprint everywhere in reality), hunting, fishing, playing poker, doing treasure maps, saving up money to build up our posse camp, doing bounties. We don't use a website to find collectables and then just sprint around a route picking them all up, instead we pick collectables up as we stumble upon them, and we spend a lot of time just travelling the world to look at things and sitting and chatting and living the game world. We used to get thousands and thousands of hours out of RPing in MMOs, where many other players would burn out rushing up the levels and manicly running dungeons, and so far its been 100+ hours of brilliance for us in this. I actually think this game is designed to be played in this way and imo, is all the better when done so.

Totally agree with this. This is probably one of the first games where most of my friends that play RD2 are in no rush to grind or anything.

The graphics are awesome and is a lot more playable since some of the patches even though I do get 1-3 crashes from the rock star servers. Hoping a upgrade will cure this ( wont hold my breath ) :)

Probably. I'm doing the same as you but I generally have 2 playthroughs when it comes to morality choice stories (Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Pathfinder etc...).

Despite playing the good samaritan, I see the point raised earlier in the thread about having to commit mass murder as part of the story without having a choice.

Is anyone else getting this issue..

Before a few days ago, when loading RDR it was quick and took about 20 seconds on the loading screen, now..when I load the loading screen is around 3.30 minutes

Is this from a update or what? Once im in the game its ok though, but big difference of 20 seconds to 3 and a half minutes!!

Out on Steam next week - looking forward to picking this up! Aside from seeing lots of pretty screenshots I know virtually nothing about the game or series so going in pretty blind.

What settings are those who have a Ryzen 3700X, not so much cpu but GPU, and 2070S @1440p using? Or can anybody direct me to a guide/video that gives some settings to get max quality/performance at this resolution.

Also, I remember reading somewhere that I should make an extra save or something at chapter 2 or 3 for some reason. Why was this again? Got to Chapter 2 last night not had any crashes or problems so far.

Thanks

This post some way back in the thread might help you.

Red Dead Redemption 2 Some Settings

The link should hopefully take you to post #2470, on page 124. All depending on how you have set up your forum viewing.

Because chapter 1 is one long boring tutorial, that no one wants to do again :)

So you don't have to replay from chapter 1 as its so linear. Should save you a couple of hours.

This goes both ways - if you're doing an absolute ******** maximum negative honor playthrough, there are missions / conversations / cutscenes that do not fit that type of character.
