Red Dead Redemption 2

Problem with this is that i sit about 2 feet from a 40 inch monitor.....
Then you’d best get saving ;)

It’s a shame the requirements are so high. I came quite late to GTA V and was able to easily max it but not this one. It’s that good a game though I don’t want to wait for affordable tech to catch up.

I'm waiting for the 3080ti tbh. The 2080 is just not giving the gain I expect compared to a 1080ti at that price

Thanks. I'm using a 2080 and getting around 50-60fps now but I've just used their settings with the resolution scaler thing to 0.9. Might even put it to 0.8 somehting and just use the nvidia sharpen filter

I've not played around with Res scaler yet, what gains have you gotten from it?

I've put it down to 0.8x and I'm hitting 60fps now pretty much everywhere.
Nvidia Sharpen is at 0.3x

It looks beautiful and plays smooth. I've also enabled mouth smoothening, adapative vsync on nvidia control panel.

I've also bought in a logitech G502 which is AMAZING for this game as it maps soooooo many actions to individual keys. Being able to spring/cover/stealth all from my 3 buttons on the side of the controller is amazing. dead eye, weapon, map and item are all attached to the scroll wheel and its 3 buttons and then my final 2 buttons on the primary click are for basic interaction. its made the game amazing. i now basically WASD+jump+r for reload + f for primary interaction.

So I've just started Chapter 4 and I have like $4500, how am I supposed to spend it? I upgraded the camp, bought outfits, horses, etc. Is there anything else I can do with my money?

Some screenshots, just love messing around with Photo Mode

Nice dude, I'll have a mess around with those.

I'm still at the start in the mountains, happy with the graphic settings just need to fiddle about with the key bindings now!

Just downloading this now .. running a 1070 at 27" 1440p so hopefully will cope (gsync monitor) with settings adjusted.. just watched the HardwareUnboxed youtube videos a couple of pages back..
Don't really know anything about this game so a lot to learn, expect some noob questions :-)

I’ve been reading that image quality can be improved with a little sharpening, how does this work, do you need to turn off the in game sharpening and then use the nVidia filter?

@shankly1985 , superb shots!

I still haven't bought this game on PC yet but the pics in this thread keep me coming back to it.

I can only imagine how good this game would be if I had a 2080ti and an LG C9 in combination :D

I found that using sharpening (in driver settings) added distortion when the image was moving :/

Each person will have what they think is the correct price, I paid £50 and do not regret it. They is a lot of game here for even £50.

This.

I paid the full 54.99 from Rockstar, so far I have 252 hours played and thats only in Online mode. Still got dozens of hours worth of single player Story to begin yet. By my calculations that means that , so far, the game has cost me 20p per hour of entertainment. In my books, thats a bargain , 20p per hour is cheaper than my missus :D

Don't know why i bought this already completed it on the PS4 thought it might be a different experience on the PC better graphics and such but im bored and stuck with it now.

Encountered my first cheater in Online today. Guy was teleporting about all over the place and then he spawned about 100 dead panther corpses on me. I guess they use it for selling all the carcasses for thousands of $$$ or something.
