Red Dead Redemption 2

The temptation to buy this is increasing on a daily basis. Gotta stick to my sub £40 rule though. Hopefully it will drop in price a little after its been out a few days...

I get the feeling that if this is in anyway a success on PC at all (which my bones tell me it will be), it could be a while before the price drops substantially.

However, just to tempt you more...it can be had for like £42, which is only £3 more than your sub £40. Which is literally not even the price of 1 decent burger. Are you truly going to let 1 decent burger stop you from having dozens and dozens of hours of terrific gaming entertainment :D

Really gutted to see the 2080ti can't run the game maxed at 4k and hit 60fps. This must be poorly optimised if it can run at 4k 30 on the xbox one x.

Xbone X has 6TFLOPS GPU, 2080Ti has 13TFLOPS. Game runs at medium/high mix on Xbone X. So it makes sense that 2080Ti does the same level of detail at twice the framerate.

So a 2080 Ti can't even run the game 60fps at maxed settings. For the price of that GPU i would be expecting 120/144fps.

Spending over 300 GBP on a GPU is a mugs game. 2080 Ti owners must feel like a bunch of buffoons.

Not at all. I do not need 4K, I am perfectly happy with 2880x1620 at 60fps. You are expecting impossible things, no wonder you are disappointed.

Is no one else concerned by reports you need a 2080Ti and even then might need to look at MEDIUM settings at 4k!!!!!!!!!!!

Mix of medium and high, and for 60fps. Based on ingame benchmark which might or might not be representative of the game itself.

I see. I suppose that's one way of looking at it.

I'll wait for a bit.

Well the retail price for the standard edition is 54.99, which is what rockstar has the special edition priced at, so the one way is the right way :D

Could be that after release they will list the standard edition again (but will still be at 54.99 so all thats happened is losing out on the free upgrade), for anything cheaper than the retail price of 54.99 you'd have to use a 3rd party site.

Or they just playing the consumers by removing base option creating a "sale" of to make the hilarious price more appealing. "Ooo it's on sale", "bargain" etc etc.

You've also got to love the "Here, have some old games you're likely to already have or not want to play, some of them mediocre, for free!"
