Red Dead Redemption 2

Benchmark -

Minimum FPS: 40
Maximum FPS: 108
Average FPS: 52

Running the game at 1440p mixture of Ultra (textures), High and Medium settings. Game appeared smooth throughout. I did notice a lot of shimmering/dithering textures though, similar to GTA...

Game launches but crashes on the intro screen just after the loading bar (even in safe mode), tried rebooting, verifying game files, adding game folder to my avast antivirus exceptions, disabling the antivirus and tried running the game only on my second screen which is a basic 1080p no hdr panel other than my main 4K screen Even removed my shark codecs pack just in case though that doesn't affect any games I play.

Nothing fixes the intro crashing

I must be super lucky, it's running butter smooth. Don't forget to change the graphics API from Vulken to DX12 if needed. May help those with issues. Sadly, time for me to get to work :(

Glad i decided to give it a miss for now, as its getting slaughtered all over the shop, broken by the sounds of it.

Its yet another title mystery, I wish I knew why games simply work on my rig when so many other people have troubles, if I knew why games worked on mine so easily I could at least say something which might help other people but unfortunately I just dont know why.

I imagine you won't hear for a while as when anyone gets in running they will not be back here for a little while:)
That's a fair point, the recommended requirements scare me a little though because you usually need much stronger specs to get good performance out of games these days!

4770k and 1060 are beefy 'recommended requirements' even by modern standards.

This is why people have problems with other launcher/platforms, because Rockstar can't implement a stable one.

I can remember having all sorts of problems getting GTA5 to work through their launcher, so this isn't isolated to RDR2.
