Red Dead Redemption Thread

Here's a tip, if you galloping along in the grassy wilderness and your horse gets a bit vocal, chances are there is something nasty like a cougar chasing you..

BTW, last night, I found a herd/pack of the American Standardbred, 5 of them. I shot the bear near by and lasso'd one of them. This was around 4pm. Just south of the snowy area.

So for those saying this horse is rare, not really.

Read the "info" on the deeds at the shops, tells you what the horses look like. "Golden pearl colour with black blaze" etc etc

American Standardbreeds are black IIRC.

Nice. :)

But they ARE rare. Just because you got lucky with a spawn doesn't make them any less rare. When they are every other horse you see in every area then maybe you can say they aren't rare. As for me, I'm still trying to find the bugger. Got the Hungarian Half-Bred and the Kentucky Saddler already. :(

What do the decent horses look like? I need pictures :p. Also I presume the War Horse just doesnt exist in non-LE versions of the game?

ps3ud0

They seriously need to patch the unskippable gutting thing he does everytime you skin an animal.

Was up in Tall Trees last night hunting some beavers. Killed a couple then started butchering them. Out of nowhere I get swiped by a bear only to get up to get sodomized by another one.

Off the top of my head...Hungarian are all white (my current ride, found mine in Mexico), Kentucky's are a kind of light-brown, sandy colour (I found one not far from Armadillo) and American Standardbreed are all black! Simples :)

Part of the risk of hunting.

As somebody already suggested, kill the animal, then ride your horse up Right beside the kill, press Y to get off and as soon as your feet hit the ground/kill, you should be able to press Y again to skin with no cut scene.... I tried it last night and it works a treat... most of the time, unless the kill was big, such as a bear :)

Couple of questions -

I'm trying to do the Hunter task where I need to knife 5 wolves, however everytime I see a pack of wolves they just seem to get me before I can kill all of them. What should I be doing?

And where can I find bears?

Cheers

I've just started on the MP, does anyone have the level guide, what special things you get for each level. My horse is rubbish and people are riding bulls!

Thin them out with a gun.

Just found the last rare (Black one) horse during a mission, saddled him up, got the achievement then he disappeared after the mission :( Guess its Horsey hunting time again!

Stay on your horse and slash them from there. Just keep swinging when they run to the horse. Thats how I did it.

The bears are located in tall trees. You need to complete all the Mexico missions to unlock that area.
