Red Dead Redemption Thread

Sorry, what sort of differences are there between 360 and PS3?

no AA ? different res?

Are there screen comparisons?

I doubt there are any comprehensive PS3 screenshots as the only leaked version is on 360, and reviewers who have this wouldn't be stupid enough to release them.

I think so far it's just rumours on forums and so on. Thus why I have suggested people wait for official confirmation :p

if you want repetitive, you're talking Just cause 2, great fun game, but 7 story missions, 50 side quests most of which are the same, and 392 bases to take out, in the same way!

Great game, but very flawed after a day or 2 hardcore! I have a feeling this is where RDR will stand out, after 25 months I'm still not bored of GTA IV and can happily wander round making a mess and having fun for hours, with RDR's dynamic random occurances too, this should make it even better :D

Cheers im just checking through NEOGAF forums atm. Apparently performance is pretty good and its nothing like the GTA4 fiasco that happened for the PS3 version. (says a dude who has the ps3 version)

Also talk about some exclusive PS3 content... sully gang hideout and smt else. /goes back to read some more.

More jaggies though :/ But better looking than GTA4

Online looks decent but basically if I don't like games like GTA where you run backwards and forwards completeing tasks I'm unlikely to like this game?

the intro is rather spiffingly impressive (on youtube) i think it has been pulled tho... (think it was 360 version)

It will most likely have a random soundtrack as the backgroud.

I was thinking though, weren't Radios around roughly when the game is set? Maybe Rockstar have built something like that into it :p

As the saying goes, opinions and all that.

I have the exact opposite opinion. I've put about 50 hours into JC2 and I've only done 23% of the game. While this may rub some people the wrong way, you get out of JC2 what you put in. Going from mission to mission treating it like an open world TPS is a huge waste of the game. A little bit of imagination in JC2 goes a very very long way. Check out the Anatomy of a Stunt as an example.

I'm not directly comparing JC2 and RDR, because without splitting too many hairs, they are chalk and cheese, and I understand some people have the viewpoint you shouldn't have to "work" for your fun.

Aye, couldn't agree more mate, I think part of it was that I put about 50 hours into the demo and got a bit burnt out before the game itself even came out!

I think if I go back to it at some point I'll definitely get a lot more into it again and enjoy it, not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination! :)

Rumours seem to suggest like GTA4 the PS3 version is lower rez and has no AA, if this the case goodbye PS3 and hello Xbox 360.

I would be quite shocked if this was the case.

If it is the case, then the 360 will definately be coming out of the loft :p

I'm no longer surprised by bad ports this gen.
I got FFXIII on the PS3 after seeing how bad the compression was on the 360 version and now I think I'm 100% sold on the 360 version of this.

It is handy having both consoles :D
