The ultimate question - is riding a horse in RDR more satisfying than driving a car in GTA...?
Problematically, once your sense of curiosity at what lies over the next hill dissipates, you'll find every 10-minute gallop across the landscape tiresome and over-familiar, and so will begin to rely heavily on the game's various fast-travel options (via train, carriage or campfire teleport).
Enough reviews now in to give it a Metacritic score of 93 on PS3 and 96 on 360.

Its big but you end up using fast travel once you have been to certain places.
I wonder how that compares with the map in Far Cry 2. It's the only other game I've played where I can make a comparison as both are set in the wilds rather than urban environments.
So far the only thing I've read in these reviews that has disappointed me is the fact you can't swim apparently. Water = insta death. Not major though.
