Red Dead Redemption Thread

Let's not open the book of PS3 vs 360 again. One thread has already been removed this week regarding this.

That would be for subscription services like downloading/renting games, streaming music, movies etc. They won't introduce it for online play.

Anyways, this is for another thread.

What I meant was perhaps the premium service would lead to spending on improving PSN on the whole, evening the whole "360 is better but costs more" thing.

I love it when console owners bicker amongst themselves, its the same old crap on any forum, why not just get it on PC!?

Well the main reason would be because it's not out on PC. Also not everyone has a PC up to spec and also some people would prefer to play sat down on their sofa or whatever. Pointless statement.

Because some people prefer to game in a lounge environment... but that isn't the point, it hasn't been confirmed for the PC as of yet. :p

Edit: Beaten to it!

I'm not bickering, I just have both consoles and have no online preference, so obviously I want the one that looks best. :p

Agreed, I use both consoles, generally use the 360 a lot more for multiplayer due to friends and the like but I just buy for whatever platform the game is best on.

There could just be a delay in getting the despatch emails out, so it may have been despatched but the notification won't arrive until later tonight/early hours of tomorrow.

Yeah, bloke on twitter is saying all orders will be dispatched today and a shortage of PS3 version nationwide

Plus the warehouse is in Bolton and I am like 8 miles from Bolton so I should have it tomorrow

I thought this forum was primarily PC users so in that respect as i'm a n00b, my bad. Carry on bickering :D

Just to add, £3 to £4k I find that interesting as to how you're a member here but you dont know how much a console eating PC costs to build

I think you have missed the point, this is the console forum, I doubt he's bothered about owning a console eating PC so long as the game plays as the developers intended it to. :p

People shouldn't be disappointed with the PS3 version if that's the one they are getting. As mentioned on the previous page, the game is the same on both platforms and some missing foliage or extra blurriness here and there isn't going to detract from what looks like an amazing game. You couldn't call it ugly on either platform and I bet when the PS3 players are playing it they'll have forgotten all about the 360 version.

I'm going to get it on the 360, I still think the PS3 is a better machine all round though, it's all down to the developer at the end of the day for ports and such.

Come on Friday :D

I don't think the PS3 is better overall, the integration with online play isn't as good as the 360 and trophies still have a fair way to go.

I think technically the PS3 is better, but on the software side it's lacking. (by that I mean online integration mostly)

Uncharted 2 whips the pants off everything on 360!

5.1 Onkyo surround sound. Big HD TV. That's why for me ;)

You can hook up a PC to HDTV's and surround sound, that's a bad argument.

A more valid one is how practical it is to have the PC hooked up to the TV, if it's in a bedroom then it's perfectly practical, if the PC is in another room then not so much.

I play some games on my PC with it on my TV instead, mostly racers or platformers, anything where mouse and keyboard isn't so big a deal.

Anyway, dangerously off topic here.

really hate this console generation seriously, since when did console goers care so much about AA/AF/resolution etc, it's really getting silly.

Last gen the consoles were quite far apart, you had the PS2, Gamecube and the Xbox.

The Xbox was clearly better than the rest, the Gamecube had a nice enough advantage over the PS2, it was pretty obvious which platform was gonna put out the better visuals so nobody really moaned about it.

Now though the 360 and PS3 are very close, it's only natural that people want the ports to be as good as each other. News that they aren't is only going to produce a lot of nitpicking and moaning.

The moaning is enhanced by how incredibly close some ports are, Call of Duty 4 and a few other games have looked identical so a lot of people are just annoyed other developers aren't delivering the same results.

It's not a bad argument. It's a simple one liner. If I was going to make an argument I would, for the benefit of anal analysis, have put:

5.1 Onkyo surround sound. Big HD TV. That's why for me because, unfortunately, my PC is not situated in the same room as said items of electronic equipment. ;)

People use it all the time as if a computer is an alien device that can't connect to a HDTV.

Edit: Red Dead on PC would probably be a resource hog and require a quad core like GTA IV did so that's a no for a lot of gamers. :D
