Red Dead Redemption Thread

There could just be a delay in getting the despatch emails out, so it may have been despatched but the notification won't arrive until later tonight/early hours of tomorrow.

There's another one where the 360 version has twice the amount of foliage as the PS3.

It's pretty much exactly the same as GTA IV, blurry and with a lower framerate. I personally would have thought they'd have sorted this out for RDR, apparently it's not even a port and they had a dev team for each version. Expected better.

Reminds me of the Dragon Rising comparison. PS3 having that blurry look with half the foliage.

Difference is criminal.

lol.

I think this comparison stands out the most.

Anyone that thinks there is a massive difference in the above needs to give up console gaming and stick to PC games seriously, I accept that the 360 version is better, I will be purchasing it on the 360 myself, but if you only have a PS3 then this game is still going to be awesome, as awesome as the 360 version in terms of game-play mechanics/story etc and that's what's important, I really hate this console generation seriously, since when did console goers care so much about AA/AF/resolution etc, it's really getting silly.

I play console games so I can forget about all that crap and just accept the games graphical fidelity for what it is, I love PC games but I tire of paying more attention to tweaking the settings and the performance of the game than the actual game itself, which is why I love to stick a disk in my console and enjoy a game for it's core mechanics for a change.

Does knowing that there is a another version out there with a few extra pixels pixels on screen, or extra foliage etc really detract that much from the experience of the game? really?

Not when you have both consoles and can choose the better version, but I would be gutted if I only had a ps3. I don't think R* are to blame though.

It's the blurriness that will bug me.

It may be 0 a year but Xbox live is a better experience online and its only a matter of time before Sony start charging, recall reading about it bit back.

I'm going to get it on the 360, I still think the PS3 is a better machine all round though, it's all down to the developer at the end of the day for ports and such.

Come on Friday :D

They can't start charging now when tehy have promoted PSN as being a free service.

They just charge up the arse for other stuff.
