Red Dead Redemption Thread

Interesting thing I just noticed is that there are more people on these forums signed up for the PS3 match arranging than there are for the 360 match arranging, thought there'd be a massive number of 360 players compared to a smaller amount of PS3 players. :)

Noticed that too but I expect most of the 360 users are already on each others lists because of previous games that have had the same threads/arrangements.

Just had a half hour play, got to hand in some uni work now, then the rest of the day to play! It's looking pretty good :D

I'm going crazy! Everybody seems to be either getting the game from Tesco today, or at least a dispatched email. I ordered on Sunday 16th May and mine is still awaiting dispatch! *sigh* I feel like a kid at Christmas :)

G.

lol i have been phoning home every hour to see if its been delivered

Ive gotta make do with Fifa world cup tonight while some of you roam around on your horses.

The plan tomorrow is get to game by 9am sharp ish, get home and then not bother going out until my missus gets back on Sunday.

the ol ps3 doesnt seem to be fairing well in a head to head

RDR comparison shots

seems like its operation flashpoint all over again with a a lot less foilage on the ps3 version. i think i'll be picking up the 360 version.

on an unrelated topic, i just found of this is the same developer who made the midtown madness series lol

Rockstar never made midtown madness, it was a microsoft game.

it was a microsoft published game developed by Angel Stuidos who are now Rockstar San Diego.

(Angel Studios only made the first 2 games and DICE made the 3rd game)

Looking at the LE version compared to the normal one. Im definitely going for the normal version, I don't want to have a better horse straight away or increased dead eye etc.

It kind of defeats the object of scouring the landscape for that gem of a horse.

Seems when im trying to input the LE code its failing to connect to their unlock server anyway :( Oh well.

Got mine today from the purple lot.

I've already put two and a half hours in, and that seems to have gone by without even noticing it. I've only done a few of the basic introduction story missions, otherwise I've just been finding various tasks to do from people you meet and skinning animals.

Obviously the game does have a feel of Grand Theft Auto to it, but it seems like that the game has much more depth to it with the things you can do. You just seem to keep running into situations where you can choose to do something and in a lot of cases if you aren't quick enough to react and do something, they either get away or somebody dies.

Liking it so far for sure.

How much bigger than a Standard package is the LE? Will it fit through a letterbox? Thanks

(on a side note, has someone else taken over Moderation duties in here? I thought the Competitor Rule was more relaxed now )

That's what i thought. Im sure i have mentioned their real name on a couple of occasions without it being overwritten.

I got my ltd edition today. Apart from the bit of paper with the code it's a standard case with a cardboard surround that just opens out to a picture - so no different really (my came in a jiffy bag through the letterbox).
