Red Dead Redemption Thread

I just folded the map back up, it took me about a minute. :p

Advice: Look at the creases and see which way they're meant to fold.
 
First impressions. Quite good :) Just done the intro tutorial ranch bit. The intro is uhh a bit empty. You dont really find out much before you are in the game.

Graphics are generally very good (not on a par with Assassin creed 2 in terms of polish as RDR feels a little rough) But better lighting in RDR i think. Control scheme tiny bit unusual but nothing too bad at all. e.g. when i tried hitching my horse would rear up. Controls just need getting used to.

Couldnt connect to the code server for my golden guns.

But all in all pretty good so far :)

Just evade the Posse & shoot everybody that comes after you, I got out the red & things have cooled for me.
 
Okay so over the last 2 days I've basically been riding my horse, hunting, and then making some nice profit selling it off. Nothing else. What the hell is wrong with me?! :p:D

Today I think I'm gonna do a few missions and advance the story a bit.
 
Played about 2 hours last night so not far into the game! I cant stop shooting birds/rabbits/horses any animal comes near, I'm skinning it!

Didn't realise if you go into a bank you can get instant wanted on your head just for walking through the wrong door, someone got killed, I fled then had to pay $100 bounty to calm everyone own :(
 
when I got a Bounty I just legged it & shot anybody that come after me until I got out the red. Since being out the red I have taken Bounty back to a Sheriff & he didn't say a word about the Bounty & it didn't kick off again. :confused:
Like I said, I don't know what I'm doing. :p
 
My xbox just took 4 tries of corrupted screen before it worked! Months of no use, I think it was trying to teach me a lesson. Now to go to town and buy ze game!
 
Everybody should buy this game as this really is the Pinnacle of console gaming, Super slick & complete gaming genius. Like stepping into a new World with a ticket back to your childhood. :cool:
 
The only thing with this game is how much time I could spend on it this weekend :/ Last nights session flew by and I could quite happily stick it on now, get some food n drink and sit on it all day without realising.

Need a tan though so BBQ > Cowboys I think!
 
Apart from a nice smelling manual and map, does this game achieve what it sets out to do?

Is it a free-roamer or is it a 10 hour linear with a glossy coat?

I need answers as its this or Modnation and the thought of recreating Monaco GP circuit on Modnation is making me smile more, but the thought of a free roaming game tempts me.

Either that or I dress up in a black and white hooped top, put a mask on.... grab both boxes and run out of Tesco screaming 'im bloody nicking it'
 
I can't really answer that as I am just wandering around the game doing as i please, O wait. :D
 
Loving the game so far, despite a few glitches. My horse for no reason while stationary threw me off and then I started sprinting uncontrollably through the town unable to stop. Other than that, looks (and smells!) good so far. I'm at work and itching to play again, very tempted to have a relapse and go home ! :D
 
So many smell loving people on these forums, weirdos :p

it's definitely free roam up to a point mehuk. If you want to wander round everywhere, gambling, skinning animals, meeting strangers and doing side quests then you can. But if you want to go the story route you can do all of the above and the story. I'm sure I could have done that I did last night in 30minutes if I had stuck to the story but it's hard!

Think i'm at around 6% completion according to the game stats and I've played 2hrs 30mins, so you're looking at 40+ hours if I carry on like this. Which for a SP game thesedays is amazing! Anyone started MP yet? Think I'm gonna stick to SP for few days, but definitely going to turn off the auto-aim as it's far too easy to kill!
