Red Dead Redeption PC version maybe....

You mean other than releasing GTA V 3 times thus getting people to double or even triple dip? (INB4 "That's down to people being stupid with money") it worked massively.

Also GTA:Online with the microtransaction shark cards.

Yup the shark cards are a joke. Essentially they add a **** ton of weapons, fancy cars, planes, helicopters etc. etc. etc. and charge a fortune for it so people either have to spend days/weeks grinding for in game money just to be able to buy a "couple" of those expensive vehicles or you can pay for in game currency....

Thank god some cheater(s) dropped a **** ton of money on me....

But hey, at least they don't charge for the DLC, which mostly contains stuff that the majority of players can't afford in game

No body forced people to double or triple dip. ND did the same with TLOU. People wanted to play it on their new consoles, supply meeting demand.

Yup as always, we have the majority of "consumers" to thank for being shafted yet again, people will never learn :o :(

None of those make them greedy in my book.

What a bizarre statement.

GTA:Online has the same method of extracting money from wallets as casual mobile games (oh you can grind for 6 months to afford 1 car oooooor you could buy this shark card for "Just" £60 "Best value" which = more than you paid for the game) that's not greedy to you?

Not sure why you're defending rockstar so much in this thread either.

No it's not, most games have that these days and they are totally optional people do not have to buy them.

I love the word grind, as if you don't enjoy what you are doing whilst "grinding".

Except the games are specifically and cleverly developed so that they aren't optional; they just appear to be by implementing unobtainable goals or gigantic grinds with a "Fast track" microtransaction with a nudge and wink.

Microtransactions should not be accepted in any form - look at the **** state of the mobile games industry, do you really want the PC/console markets the same?

As for your edit: grinding is not fun, thus why it was given the name "grinding".

Why exactly did consumers shaft you?

Essentially people are mugs and pay into anything just to have it, people have no will power or principles and just accept everything as it is hence why get shafted with false advertising, broken releases, DLC/season passes (which usually now removes ideas/content from the game, see battlefront and batman AK) etc.

Having people buying into all this stuff just gives the companies/publishers the thumbs up to do this more often and even take it to another level.

If people voted with their wallets then said companies/publishers would stop bending people over and taking advantage of them. But hardly anyone has principles or will power now :o :(

No, most games don't have it to this standard.... Dungeon keeper remake for the tablets got a panning for a similar approach with regards to micro-transactions and GTA 5 should do too (granted not as bad though)

And yes, it is a grind, the best cars in the game cost at least $1.5 million, going all the way up to $3 million, you have to do heists for hours/whole day just to be able to buy 1 and... this is without any upgrades, which add even more to the cost.

But these games are not made like those mobiles games, which indeed are there to force players into it.

I know people who play GTA V daily and have loads of awesome apartments, cars etc and haven't spent a dime on shark cards.

You don't grind GTA for 6 months for one car stop being hyperbolic.

In relation to your original post how did consumers screw you over in regards to getting RDR 2 on PC and how does them not announcing it yet play to the argument they are greedy?

Is it because you think they will get people to buy it on console then rebuy it on PC to play again?

Yes because that is what happened with gta 5, consoles first, then next gen consoles release then PC release after that. Just go visit the PC thread for GTA 5 near the start and you will see plenty of people saying that they double/triple dipped for the game therefore they have essentially proven that this money milking tactic works and given rock* the thumbs up to do it again... If people didn't do this, I think it is pretty safe to say that R* wouldn't pull this stunt again and lose the launch sales especially considering how well gta 5 did on the pc in the end.

This double/triple dipping thing. Why the hate? Companys need to make money to help them produce more product. If you want the best/better version you will have to wait or at least buy it on a inferior format. I am sure that most of haters of d/t dipping wouldn't bat an eye lid when it comes to movies. Favourtite film on VHS many years ago, released on DVD not so many years ago and now re-released on BR. You will get the newest version because its better, sound and picture plus you may get extras to watch with it. Its the same with games.

I have no issue with this way of companys making money, after all if it wasn't for thgem we wouldn't have a game or movie to love.

Maybe they just can't be arsed dealing with the plethora of issues that will no-doubt plague the PC version on release at the same time as having to maintain the console versions.

When all said and done, the consoles account for the bulk of their sales so it shouldn't be much of a shock that that's where the focus is.

Wow some interesting thoughts in here atm...

First off, Nobody makes anybody buy shark cards, however there seems to be a must, can, will have culture now, so know surprise there.

Second..... You pay for the single player game... Not GTAO and shark cards have kept the DLC flowing... So cheers to those who have bought them....

Third, GTA V was released on 360/PS3 first, just weeks Before new gen launched.... So what would you do? hold back the old gen launch? not launch on old gen and launch on new gen.... Blame MS and Sony for console double dip.... PC could not launch until New gen as GTAO would be out of sync and it would have hurt console sales.... Thats business....

Back on topic

Red Dead has never been on PC...... So whilst I am bitterly disapointed, I can see their logic... Why change a pattern now....

To be honest,Id rather them keep it on console than attempt a very bad port to PC like a lot of other game devs are doing these days.

I found RDR to be pretty boring and repetitive though, maybe it was just me.

Yeah after how terrible their GTA V port was which period setting alone would make 10x more intensive than a western, I don't imagine how badly RDR2 would perform on PC.

That may or may not of been sarcasm.

Interesting view point considering Rockstar were one of the shining examples of Remastered/enhanced versions this generation and actually gave people a very good reason to pick up the new version the new consoles and didn't simply go down a cash grab route like many many other developers.

Gutted there's no PC mentioned. Certainly not buying a new console for one game. Mind you, RDR is perhaps one of the best games I have played in 10 years, and that was on the PS3 version which ran mostly like a dawg...

Not buying a PS4 for this.
Not buying a PS4 for this.

Wheres my chequebook?

Well I was considering selling my PS4 as I haven't used it in months, but now I'm reconsidering...

I'll probably end up buying the PS4 version, and then buying the PC version when it's released, just like I did with GTA 5... :(

thinking of selling to! even when it comes out, if its much better on a pro or scorpio i would feel dirty using a standard ps4

I wouldn't play this on console. It is clear they will do staggered release of slowest consoles first, faster consoles later, PC last. And even the slowest consoles will get it in 15 months earliest. It is so far in the future that I will have no trouble waiting for the best version. With GTA V it was worth it.

Of course the business model R* are using is still hostile and anti-customer, but given how much money it makes them, I am not surprised.
