Oops, I just started a "Father Ted" thread in GD - LOL

Allways wondered, but the annual Big Brother thread allways ends up in GD which is funny as the first 10 pages EVERY year are of people saying how the thread should be deleted and how pants it is then after a few weeks, the inhabitants get left alone with only the odd troll.
 
dont moan, i want more episodes plz :)
red dwarf is in a league in its own and i want to watch more.

the old ones are pretty good tho init :)

im off to play eve online happy hunting

That was horrible.

You can tell there working on a budget as EVERY room is CGI, and that looked garbage too. The acting was terrible and Cat scenes were cringeworthy.

The Russian chick put in the best performance. This makes Seies 7 look good.

Oh god it was awful.
1. It looked too polished
2. The camera angles were too Hollywood
3. Cats acting was just like an old man acting out a boys role
4. Kryton was fine in it
5. Rimmed had really bad dialog
6. No holly

Where exactly is this 9 years after?
Didn't the series leave rimmed (alive) but to be left for dead with the grim reaper.

Two hollograms cab be used but it requires holly to turn off other devices.

The tenticle scene was dreadful


I just know the rest are gonna be awful

Didn't mind it TOO much, but that said, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece.
As others have said, they need to loose the CG, it's not exactly 'Dwarf'. And having DOF, slow panning around characters etc just isn't Red Dwarf, should be low budget, or at least make it look like it's low budget.
 
Watching this with some friends, we all agreed that the CG ruined it for us.

Plus the fact that it did look too polished. I really liked the cheap/tacky low/no budget look of the earlier series.

I really hate CG in place of scaled models for ship scenes, or real props, especially cheap CG that looked like it belongs on the PSOne.
 
Crap. Red Dwarf peaked in series 6. It was downhill after that, when Katchansky became a character and Rimmer left. I mean Red Dwarf without Rimmer is just a no-go. I never bothered watchin series 8.
where was the canned laughter? I was clockwatching during the new episode, really boring and not one joke that made me laugh. The scene during the giant squid was cringeworthy, Rimmers personality seems to have changed and there were no jokes.
Perdictably poor. Krysten with armbands on was typical of the last series, cheap jokes that are just not funny and really cheesy. No great Simile's ie- nasal hair in spanish omlette, crashed more than a zx-1 etcectc.
Red Dwarf was never the same after series6 as it was only written by one of the writing partnership.

Season 8 had some very funny moments. Your loss.

and Rimmer was in 8 all the way through...
 
I maybe getting confused with series 7/8 because I stopped Watching. But I recall Rimmer definately wasn't in one of the series or something along the lines. Anyway apart from Tikka to ride and maybe another episode the formula was changed and I just did'nt find it funny, The old magic was gone. Never the same when only 1 of the writing partnership was writing after series 6.
