I've never seen this ending but it does make sense to assume current episode follows this. I was confused to see none of the other crew since in the "proper" ending they all left Red Dwarf when Rimmer got stuck in the alternate reality and well I assume died to that virus that ate the ship. But then that would explain why hes holo hardlight again... confusing.

Too be honest, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. The cat was the best, its like he never changed at all.

The worst part for me was when Rimmer decided to play music while the rest were in the submarine and he started doing that dance. It was annoying more than anything and just weak.

However when the testicles, err tentacles D) started flapping around I thought that was funny.

But as others have said, it needed the studio laugh. It certainly would have helped cover the dull gags.

These days model work is much more expensive than CG, especially since some of the original models were damaged beyond repair (the original red dwarf was dropped and broken, which was the reason why red dwarf itself didn't appear in series 6 and 7)

i thought it was ok, had some of the old red dwarf humour but seemed a little fake as if they hadn't quite slipped back into their characters

i'm also confused as to where the other hologram came from especially as the ship can only support one hologram
