I thought its all well and good love the orginal and happy that the cast is back to make more, god some of you are looking at it so wrong! enjoy it! I'm lookin forward to the next few

Hated it, they seemed to have forgot how to act their own characters. It seemed so forced. Apparently it gets better. There was a load of us in the crew room at work watching it and not one person laughed and we are all long term fans.

Mixed reviews, I personally loved it as I went in expecting it to be mediocre but many didn't like it at all. Definitely worth a watch if you like Red Dwarf.

I have to admit to being a bit let down, was SOOOO looking forward to it.
The lack of laughter (live audience) didn't help, also the filming style was a bit different in places, plus like others I didn't get where the other hologram came from?! Mind you that seems like a plot line as Rimmer tired several times asking her also......
It ceratinly didn't live up to the greatness of the older series as above. STill will watch the next few and give it chance.

Some of it was pretty funny but not classic RD stuff.
Deffo needed canned laughter or something too imo, was weird without it.

im trying to watch the new episode of red dwarf but its hard cause they do like to repeat stuff on dave:/, hope i get towatch it from the start.

I don't get why people liked canned laughter so much, it forces you to laugh in most cases, I hate it with a passion as I like to decide what I find funny. If you watched a film that had canned laughter I think it wouldn't be funny at all.

its hard to tell what episode is new from old really, cause none of them age much/ if at all.

Canned laughter certainly pushes the punch lines smoother, I hope the next episode is better I didn't think much of this episode
Aye but after you've watched an episode you can see where they want you to laugh. You can't find hidden gems that you missed the last time. Saying that though previous episodes are still some of the best comedy I have in my collection, I just think canned should be canned.

And they are not even showing a webcast of it, they fail. They could have had advertising on the webcast and made money, stick it on itunes for a few quid and I would have watched it.
