Thanks for the look out guys won't be watching these. I intended to keep my red dwarf to seasons 1 - 6 as is right.

I feel redeemed in sticking with it. Final part felt much more like the Red Dwarf of old in terms of the themes, though they could have gagged it up a bit more. Slightly annoying that we're back to square one in terms of how this bit started with the '9 years later' caption, and that the series 8 conclusion still isn't explained.
Fingers crossed that we get answers with a new mini-series, or at least a special finalé. If the storyline can be given as strong a finish as this three-parter then there's certainly hope. They just need to make it... well, funny again.
You're a fool not to watch 7 and 8 to be honest, especially 8 which is actually pretty good.
You'd also be quite mad not to watch Back to Earth too in my opinion. Yea, it's bad as far as Red Dwarf goes, but it's better than a lot of crap on telly these days and it's nice to see them back together again. Plus it's only like 75 mins long anyway.
If you have season 8 dvd, watch the special features, theres an alternate scene/ending that finishes it off quite well.
One of the things I didnt like in the old series, was rimmer wasn't the same rimmer, he turned into ace and we were left with a copy rimmer, boo.
In our world, the writers are 'jumping the shark'. They have ran out of ideas so are introducing new weird plot devices, like making it back to earth, and lister speaking chinese. Katrina might be a new character introduced to bolster 'failing ratings' ala scrappy doo?

This would explain why so many things don't make sense. However, somehow they escape reality X and it all goes back to normal.
What do you think?
I do, and will! Cheers.
mmmm so your saying that you did;'nt like rimmer through the whole of 1-6 ??? are you quite mad? quite possibly one of the funniest characters ever to be in british TV
or have I got what your saying wrong?
Nah I did like him, what I meant was to me he wasn't one of the original 4, and to me felt like a new person, as he had no experience of all years where they were on there own, if that makes sense?
Who are you referring to as the original 4? The first two series were just Rimmer, Cat, Holly and Lister...
