Just spotted the Red Dwarf Boxset on the bay for £33 with free P&P.
What SimonC means is that the Rimmer in series 8 was a resurrected human Rimmer, supposedly the same one that died in episode 1, series 1 along with the rest of the crew and would have no memory of all the events since then that hologram Rimmer had. Therefore he felt somewhat alien in that series.
The future
Doug Naylor has stated in an interview with Dave that he would like to make another series, but that "we would have to wait and see" how good or bad the reaction to "Back to Earth" was. He also stated that he would "never make a series 9," but he does want to make a series 10. He then went on to say that "that will make a lot more sense in future". The specials establish that two series occured after series eight that focused on the events that lead up to the mini-series. [57]

So what was Cat doing with the sweet wrappers? I think I fell asleep.

I quite liked it the only thing I thought was missing was the "Canned Laughter" without it just didn't feel like a proper episode of the Dwarf!
I noticed that Rimmer has lost his arrogance and self superior attitude, he was almost too nice.
Has this been on?
