Red Orchestra (2) : Heroes of Stalingrad

Another great time playing this tonight, it's good to be back in ww2. Can't wait for full release, maps, mods, matches.

Planning a big Friday night session with comms if anyone fancies it, join some servers, fill a whole squad perhaps and own the server. Add me to steam if you fancy it - hank_marvin

I haven't for a while competitivly, just with friends.

Add me to steam, hank_marvin, shall be having a big friday night game with a few people on vent.

So I hear there are total of 10maps on release. You guys think people already created more maps or they will start making them after the release?

TWI are working really closely with the modding community so I reckon post-release maps will be community made.

Barracks has some issues for me but the other maps are smooth. Quite a few people have found problems with Barracks, look forward to trying an updated version from tripwire. But overall pretty good.

It's the mortars that do it for me.

How is the performance for everyone here?

After the patch, my performance has dipped.

Im wondering if there's going to be another round of optimisation before release. I'm running a Q6600 @ 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM and an HD6870 on 64bit Win7. Monitor is a 22" @ 1680x1050. I can run Crysis: Warhead on it's maximum settings very smoothly. RO2 runs at about 40FPS but drops in places, and stutters like hell when there's an artillery barrage.

I know Crysis is an older game, but it was also famously strenuous for computer hardware. I would have thought that being able to run it at maxmimum settings would be a good indication fo the ability to a game like RO2.

However, that said, I consider anything about 30FPS as good and eprfectly playable.

I would say 100%, there a lots of reports of people with very top end stuff not really getting great performance, so I'm sure it's high on their list.

Had an epic moment in game. Found a stationary MG, there were no enemies in sight so I started spraying randomly the building that is closer to the enemy side Then eventually got message that I killed an enemy, epic xD

since changing the resolution from the crappy one it starts with to 1920 x 1080 i can't seem to click anything on the menu? I have tried using the arrow keys and enter and escape etc but it does nothing?

I normally game at 5760 x 1080 but this game doesnt supposrt that resolution. However now i can't click anything? Any ideas?

I have the same specs as you pretty much, slightly faster CPU.

What settings are you running on? If you say ultra, TURN IT DOWN! :D especially AA and shadows, and ambient occulsion.

I know you say Crysis ran well, but this is with 64 plays and lots of bullet physics

mm finding similar "rubbish" BFBC2 tactics working on this game

ie flank on outer part of map as far as you can get without getting into "banned" zones

go prone

then pick off enemy advancing past you in the distance

:(
