Just downloaded the trailer at 3DGamers and was quite impressed. Visually, the game looks to hold up quite well, considering it is using the relatively old Unreal 2.5 engine (as used in UT2004 and Pariah). The official site has various download links for the trailer.

The game is due to be launched in March via Steam. Hopefully there will be a demo/mp test soon.

Cheers,

I played one of the first betas of this game and man it was buggy and the gameplay was terrible. I guess it has improved a lot since then?

Every public release has been a beta mod for UT. The game has had a number of different engines initaily before being based on the UT. 1stly on UT99 then UT2003 and lastly UT2004.

The new retail game to be released in March is a full product in its own right. To be released over Steam and thru normal retail outlets. Hope this helps...

Ah so basically what Freeman has presumably played has no bearing of the quality of the final product. RO didn't win the big prize in the Make Something Unreal contest for nothing ;)

I can't say that I have ever found RO particularly buggy, and the gameplay is second to none if you prefer a slower paced more tactical shooter. A lot of people would play this, start off at spawn, sprint towards the action, then appear suprised when they get taken out by a single rifle shot as they are running down the middle of the road... :D Teamwork is really important, and more often than not if you try running about like a loon you will die, quickly. Tank battles are excellent as well, as you have a driver, gunner and commander in each :)

wow, is that all its going to be?
holy cow, im ordering it as it looks fantasic!

Yeah I have ordered my copy and it works out to be:

Pre-Order gets you a $2.49 discount which expires on release day,

Product Cost
-----------------------------------------------
Red Orchestra $ 22.45

Tax (United Kingdom) $ 3.93
-----------------------------------------------
Total $ 26.38

Which at the current exchange rate is £15.17 !! You cant say fairer than that for a truely awsome looking game.

This game is going to be truly awesome! :D

The UT2004 mod might have had some bugs, but now they have full access to the code I doubt we'd see any of them.
Head over to the forums at www.redorchestragame.com and see how well the company treats it's customers through great interaction.

Amazing game for people who're fans of realism....a benefit being that the rambo idiots are playing all other games. :)

Not really read much into the game, but it's kind of wierd valve are pushing a game with UT technology, but I'd going to make them money anyway I think. Will need to see more of it if I do get round to buying it.

After watching the video, it seems to appeal to me a lot more than CODII has.

Will the retail boxed version be linked into Steam as well? I'm not the biggest fan of Steam because I can't move my HL2 purchase and HL1 account to a new account (old one is based off an email address that doesn't exist any more, changed the email address but the account name is the same).

I'll have a check.

Account name isn't the end of the world, it doesn't mean much anymore. Mine's the name of one of my old e-mail addresses, but it works fine :p you're just being picky :p

This is the one with no crosshairs for weapons (except Sniper) right?.....

Soon sorts the men out from the boys...:)

Last time i tried this was about 2yrs ago i think....remember a great map in a bombed out factory and a snowy tank map.....

Its definately a game for the more 'mature' player.

i'm probably going to splash out and get this. Haven't really done much gaming recently and ww2 is a favourite genre of mine.

I don't think it looks that fantastic though, a bit rough arond the edges in the animation department.

I like the idea of the realism though. is it one shot kill with a rifle to the chest for example?
