OK - This is awesome...a bit of an update...I've been working in my sector for just over two years..I'd have liked to thought I made a bit of a name for myself, but I wasn't so sure until now...
I got a call at about 3PM from a competitor; evidently, my redundancy had proliferated around the market, and I got a call with a job offer. Not in the same role I'm in now, mind you, but basically, the same job my boss who just laid me off has.
I am not taking anything for granted, but the person who called me used to work for my company, and I know him quite well (I even loaned him some pocket money before!) He is also the person who would have final say on who is hired for this position. I still have to go through the interview process, etc, but I reckon I'm on to a winner. If this pans out, I will be on a much higher salary than I was hoping to get in my next job.
Besides my daughter being born, and getting married, this is the craziest day of my life!
