Ref: AZAB...Whose is the most infamous thread on motors?

Can't remember his name now, but there was a regular member who made up a load of BS about a supercharged (?) BMW project car and then suddenly stopped posting when he was asked about it because it didn't look kosher. Someone even went to his house to check IIRC :D
That guy was called Tom. I think it turned out he actually drove a Lupo or a 106.

Guy claimed it was his car cos 'heres a picture of my lunch on the bonnet'. Fox then claimed his dads 530d was his by putting a loaf of Hovis on the bonet and providing a picture. It started the whole 'Hovis to prove ownership' thing.

The ironic thing was that hovis was used to prove putting bread on a car did NOT prove ownership, so quite why everyone now says OMG PICS WITH BREAD I have absolutely no idea

Just think, if we listened to the OMG WHO CARES crew every time we had a thread like this there would have been no epic threads

So true.

"OMG why do you care?!!!!!11122222lemon"

Because it results in epic fail and a chunk of humour. :D

Going back to the topics in this thread, the Tom one really annoyed me more than anything, as it was the only one of these liars that I had believed (as had most of the forum IIRC), and that felt more of a community let-down than a liar getting owned.

Anyone remember the car transporter ;)

Some epic threads in motors, also love the peace crisp buying monkeys who don't think we should question anyone.

I still want Serial45 to post his 997 Turbo pictures and review, he's gone quiet on that one for some reason ;)

Oh there have been some classics over the years.

Does anyone remember someone called "Stig" who lived in Milton Keynes and claimed he had bought a brand new Merc of some kind as a "project car".

Also, i think we're still waiting for that kid, who claimed he'd won millions on the lottery, to upload a photo of the winning ticket :p

Wasn't "Stig" also "salvatore", the guy who had a rally apprenticeship?

Who was the **** who said he had a 535d with a Manual box?

I would say going by the images from his web directory that he or the gf owns it alright.

Along with a massive house and so on

I've come to conclude that its all his girlfriends dads stuff, he has given his daughter a new flat to live in etc, its just that some things don't add up, if he was loaded why would he drive around in a pants 1.2 clio everyday... I just wanted some proper pictures of the 997 he gets to drive 'so its as good as his'.

Edit : as Mr Fox said...

Wasn’t there a guy who said he wanted to buy a car, for us to spec it and that price was no object. Didn’t he send someone a copy of his bank statement to prove he could afford one.

GUN9 atually does have a tuned Nova, but for some reason he posted a spec list grabbed off the internet that doesn't match his car

not just any spec list

the thing that got him, was that he posted the spec of the nova of Daz from "Quentin Wilson's Britains Worst Drivers"

The bloke on the TV show was a bit of tool and even appeared in one show with his hand in badages as he'd crashed his car street racing and ploughed into a multi story car park wall.

Don't discuss him, he still posts here and if you dare mention anything like that he comes into the thread and posts loads of abuse. It's really very very bizarre
