No I expected a scripted game throughout, and its a fact its not scripted all the way through.

i thought it was pretty obvious why he regretted buying dragon age and it was a very valid reason tbh. you've changed what he said to about final fantasy and then said he fails as being a troll

I wouldnt have minded if the game was either in one camp or the other, I was enjoying the story then next minute it gets pulled from under me, it wasnt a great feeling and I felt the game lost all its steam then.I'm interested to know why you wanted a scripted game? Not knocking it, merely curious.
Ahh fair enough, I see what you mean. Yeah, I sympathise and can empathise with that. Problem when that happens is that the player doesn't always know where they are in the game due to the lack of continuity.
Didn`t feel I needed any reasoning, dozens have done it before me, some in this very thread(for example black ops having retarded spawning system etc.). That`s just my opinion.

Final Fantasy as epitome of monorail rpg's (reading brackets is hard?). Why would anyone expect the spiritual ancestor of Baldur's Gate to be a scripted 'hold my hands through the experience' game is just beyond my understanding. Especially when the game was heralded from the very first moment as tribute to the BG series. At the same time comparing DA to Oblivion is...lol? Yes you have freedom of choice but sandbox rpg it ain't. That's why his reasoning is absurd, and that's why I think he must be trolling.
His example is akin to someone claiming that Baldur's Gate 2 is rubbish because after you leave Irenicus' dungeon (very linear experience) you are free to choose what to do to free Imoen.

Far Cry 2 and Bioshock for me.
Far Cry 2 was probably the most boring game ever and absolutely no fun at all.
Bioshock - I have no idea what the hype was about, and how people still say they enjoyed it. I think i got about 3/4 of the way through only because I liked the graphics/art style before I couldn't take the awful combat any more.

Bioshock's wepaons and combat were not great, agreed, but the whole Rapture thing and the dictaphone tapes were very immersive. I loved the story and the setting - it was worth playing through just for that.
