reheating food help !

The evidence is all in this thread, have a re-read, i dont need to go posting it again.

The fact is bacillus cereus forms spores and in the right conditions produces a toxin. In reheating a fair amount of the bacteria will be killed however the toxin that causes the ilness will remain.

Is this someone who comes and post some non-sense about me......Oh yes it is you. Listen, if you bother to read the post you will see i have made valid points but whether you accept them or not is another thing.
Seriously, make your own arguement and i will be MORE THAN happy to join you.
Once again....Peace.

EDIT
I see you missed when i said, PROPER HEATING AND MICROWAVING. Even one of the link posted did mentioned it - Something about microwaving and stiring the food iirc.

I just had some reheated chow mein from last night. It had chicken, pork and prawns in. It was in the fridge overnight so I think it should be ok.

Yes, if HEATED PROPERLY. :D
The fact it was in th fridge helps slow down any asexual reproduction that might take place.

So ...
- some (including the relevant one) bacteria are destroyed at these temperatures
- some toxins they produce aren't

Experience tells me that if it smells okay and tastes okay, there's every chance that it is okay.

Sometimes I wonder how the fragile human race managed to survive for a hundred thousand years without microwaves and Gov't health departments ;)

You know something, i dont understand is the actual toxin that causes food poisoning is INSIDE the Bacteria, i dont know why they keep saying "toxin is left in the food" or something similar.

***Emails my lecturer*** :)

Maybe they mean that the bacteria are in the food as a whole, rather than inside a particular bit of it. Although, if a bacterium goes *pop* I imagine its innards will be spread all over the rice!

Are you still trying to be funny? or just plain daft....
Just spit it out like i said before.
Seriously what is your contribution so far...erm, none.

lol @ you lot. Your talking about rice not Anthrax.

Why cant use use your own judgement. How long has it been left out? Covered? Temperature? Heat it properly?

I would be more concerned about what they did with the rice at the chineese than it been left for a few hours overnight.

Why you've failed to realise quite what I'm saying is a mystery. If your university's website is to be believed they don't offer any sort of course to do with biology or anything related to the subject at hand, yet you claim to have been lectured on it. I'm asking you to explain this disparity to me. Difficult?
