Seems a lot of this thread is 'does my family accept my gaming habits or not', so thought I'd share my positive story.
Due to work I'm often away from home over weekends, which generally sucks as I want to spend time with my 8 year old daughter. During these times we run video chats (skype, facetime etc) on the tablets and we meet up in whichever MMO we're playing at the time (currently Archeage or multiplayer Minecraft). We tend to muck around a fair bit and there is more emphasis on play rather than necessarily achieving game objectives.
My daughter loves it as we get time together and share playing and having fun and my wife is happy as she doesn't feel like she's being the sole parent. It's a great way to spend time together when I'm not able to be at home and beats just having a phonecall.
