Relatively new build - No post

Been reading about Contact Frames for helping lower temps.

Wonder if uneven preasure is causing the CPU RAM pins to not make proper contact and if the Contact Frame would cure this? (hope that makes sense)

If this is the cause, does it point to a faulty CPU?

Do you mean the replacement CPU detainment thingy I have? You recon that could have killed the CPU?

But i still reckon if its 4 beeps its the cmos battery or ram, just do if u can what i suggested before, try 2 sticks say set 1, in slots 2 and 4, then if dont work after memory training for a bit take em out put the other 2 sticks in of set 2. Presuming its 4x sticks of 16gb sticks.

Have you still got the system sitting externally? Can you take some pics of psu cabling and mobo setup close ups? Someone might spot a incorrect connection.

First thing is the coolers fan header is in sys fan not cpufan header thats more to the right side of the board not the 4 pin next to the 8 pin for cpu. Tho then again i think u have the other cpufan header filled im not sure. Still shouldnt really affect a boot tho.

Second is the pwr header isnt in just speaker. Tho dunno if needed as i think u can use reset button on the mb for testing.

3rd, is there no stock cooler u can use instead of aio cooler to try?

4th, put a stick in 4th slot too.

Pics would be nice to see is with cooler off so we can get a few diff angles shots of the cpu socket pins, then a visual pic of the cpu both sides with good light to see it best if poss.

So move the AIO pump cable from CPUFAN to system fan header? Or am I being daft?

Yeah I’ve just been jumping the board outside the box.

I do have a standard tower fan but I lost the bloody back plate to it. I suppose for this purpose it doesn’t matter, just stick a bit of paste on it and slap it on the top, gravity will keep it in place.

Will do this too. Need to get some breakfast or something into me 1st

Btw dunno if works on new comps but back in the day holding down left ctrl when off and keep it down then power on while keeping key pressed down, used to reset the bios and help me boot sometimes when it wouldnt. That or was it del key. Could try them.

The fan in near the ram, might be angle or just me but doesnt look like its in straight?

Nah ur ok there i think.

Think it’s just the angles the photos are taken at, I can confirm all the fan connectors are in 100 straight and level

You could grab a 12100 with igpu to test, and return it within 14 days or use it as a stop gap till you get yours tested .
If it’s not the CPU. What else could it be? I’ve tried (I think) everything else. I think I’ve talked myself into getting an 13700 but I don’t have the funds available until I get money back on the 13600. I couldn’t even stretch to the i3 at the moment

Got any other ram to try maybe ur mate has 2 sticks u can borrow.

But lets see pics of the pins and the cpu and try take any modifications off like cpu socket thing described above u said u put on, to rule them out as issues.

One other thing which I didn’t think worth mentioning but is maybe related.

If the system has been off for a while and disconnected, the 1st power up seems to 5 beeps. I would describe them as 4 long 1 short and then when it reboots it will always do 4.

This is the reason I have said 4 long beeps because it always seems like that rare 5th beep was cut short because of the restart.

If the first is 5 then it could be

5 Short Beeps

Five short beeps mean there has been a processor error. A damaged expansion card, the CPU, or the motherboard could be prompting this AMI beep code.

Start by reseating the CPU. If that doesn't work, try reseating any expansion cards. Chances are, however, the CPU needs replaced.

Then the worry about using that contract frame and not seated properly could be it. When u put cpu in if u take it out for pics, when u put it in make sure seated properly by running ur finger gently around the edge so all sides are seated straight and no side or corner moves when u touch it on the edge when going around it very carefully.

Can you tell us what contract frame is in use so i can google it and ur mb to see if any compatability issues someones posted about.

Btw is ur mb the name is is it exactly Gigabyte B760M DSH3 or the Gigabyte B760M DSH3 ddr4 or other ones?
