Yes, I was reading the forums when it happened. This was pre 'nuke' so you won't find the posts here. Perhaps on an archive site though?

but 'covering up' would be involving blasting it to bits to destroy all the paper work, just making controlled detonations would still have dodgy papers being saved in metal cabinets.
Conspiracy theorists don't think these things through.
I remember Spie's decision to close the forums on the anniversary of 9/11 for about 3 or 4 years afterwards.
I remember watching it as it happend. I was working for a company in central London. I can't recall who but someone emailed me a still image of the first plane hitting the tower. I immediately tried getting to the BBC News website but it was down; either the BBC News itself was being massively hammered by traffic or the internet in our building was overwhelmed. This was a relatively early stage of the internet. I tried calling my wife to tell her but she didn't take it seriosly and told me she was busy.
So a few of us went to a different floor and found one of those TV's with a VHS built into it which was used for repsentations at the time. After a few minutes we saw the second plane hit live on TV, followed by each building collapsing. I was working flexi time back then so I decided to leave as early as I could that day to avoid being on the tube during rush hour. That seemed like an ideal target if we were going to be attacked too.

I was talking in general over the course of the day and events around it rather than a specific part of the event.

I can remember them being closed the following year.
As for the day of the attack, I can remember coming home from school and putting the tv on about 30 seconds before the first tower fell. Up to that point I had no idea what had happened. I thought it was a film at first, until I realised the same thing was on all the channels.

Lots of people interviewed on the day only reported hearing explosions though with no mention of hearing hulking great jets flying at extremely low altitude. The official story is dodgy to say the least but I don't pretend to know what happened. Building 7 collapsing in exactly the same orderly way should set alarm bells ringing though. 3 towers falling in such an orderly fashion, one not even being hit, what are the chances? it takes teams of demolition experts weeks/months to do that sort of thing normally.

The forums were closed on the anniversary of the attack for years afterwards as a mark of respect.
This is clearly nonsense. The jets are captured on camera and were witnessed by hundreds of thousands of eye witnesses. How this is some how ‘dodgy’ is beyond me. The intensity of the fires caused the demolition, the floors weakened and the sheer weight of the structure made the buildings come down. Frankly it’s amazing that the buildings withstood the hit from a a fully laden 767 so well in the first place.
and lets not forget about "lucky" Larry Silverstein.
Do not waste your time debating with people who consume conspiracy on this one would be my advice. It’s a fruitless debate of “yea but”
