Replayability

I really don't get all this repeatability stuff, surely there are better things to do, if you like games that much play a new one?

I know I'm the sort of person that requires fresh stimulation so I may be a little biased but I still don't really get replaying something you've already played and know the outcome, the argument of 'different paths' is a pretty thin vale because ultimately it's still very much a similar if not the same experience.

I agree, the best games for replayability are the kind without a real 'story'. Strategy, Racing, Beat'em'ups etc are best for it imo.

(I only said TR before as, well, how can you not!? lol)

I'd have to say the first KotOR. I've played through as fully light side, and then fully dark side.

This is the only way to see all the game has to offer, and was equally enjoyable - perhaps event more so - replaying as a budding Sith Lord :D

I don't find this necessarily true titles like deus ex, System Shock 2, Half-life, Unreal etc... all had an amazing story and I found are so damn replayable I soon find myself dragging them out of the vast collection I've gathered it's more recent titles where they've been lazy with the story I find I'm replaying less and less however beat'em ups and racing games even without story are replayable well because well they're just damn good!

There are occasionally games whose quality surpasses that of games for years to come. That's why people go back to them. An example would be FF VII. I don't think (opinion) there's been a better FF game since.

+1. FF VII is the best final fantasy by far!

Virtually none. Ignoring games that are designed for replayability (sports games, Civ etc) the only games I've been motivated to replay in the past 10 years are:

-Deus Ex
-Max Payne
-Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed
-Motorhead
-Unreal
-Halflife 2

Of those, the only one I actually completed secondtime around was NFS5.

I think I'm quite unusual in that even games which allegedly MUST be replayed - typically RPGs with good/evil paths - don't really get me interested

There's a few more that I might consider such as KOTOR, DE:TIW, COD4 etc but generally speaking I'd rather play something new rather than playing through a game I've already played.
