Resident Evil 3 Remake

After playing it and finishing it (was really short campaign, @5hr, compared to RE2), I totally agree with this:

If Resident Evil 2 Remake did not come out last year and this would be the first remake, it would give a much better impression. However, it's certainly is not in the same league as RE2 remake, it feels rushed and a money grab based on the much better RE2 remake from the company/devs, very very disappointed but considering how quickly this came out after last year's RE2 remake it was obvious its a rushed/rehashed assets by the devs.

Disappointed and I so was looking forward to this.

What you have said is exactly what RE3 was when it was first released some twenty years ago. Why are people still surprised by this?

RE3 was originally a side project whilst everyone worked on code Veronica.

Precisely. That's why this was a great opportunity to put in more work and flesh it out it but they took the easy way out, it seems. It's not 1999 anymore.

Right. Getting back on this. Lets see if I end up completing it today. Doubt it though, I like to take my time on my first go, I predict 10 hours at least :D

Finished this in 5 hours last night, having never played a Res Evil game before and I loved the Res Evil 2 remake but this was so poorly done and am thoroughly disappointed with it. Its a £10 game tops imo.

I would barely class this as DLC worthy, let alone a stand alone full priced game. The controls were also infuriating at times (M&K user) and felt like wading through treacle or something, its hard to explain.

:(

I am in getting close to 2 hours taking my time and I can see it finish at 5 hours now, it really does look small and dlc like. Still enjoying it though. Will report back once I have completed it.

This, I don't understand what people expected from this?

The only valid gripe imo is the cut content, everything else is the same complaints that were brought up during its original release.

Too short, lack of puzzles compared to 2, same was said decade ago

My expectation was for them not to cut content, but to add content.

So far enjoying, will see how it goes.

As I said I understand any ones issues with cut content, in regards to adding well that's each to there own, yes it would be nice providing it's good content of course

Personally I haven't bought this yet as I knew long before this came out it would be a very short game(the original one was) so I'm waiting till price comes down.

It looks very pretty but I ain't buying at full price for what imo is essentially just dlc/expansion to 2.

I paid full price upon its original release and felt it was too short back then! So once it hits £20 I'll jump on it

I played the demo and was able to get all the Charlie dolls - so know that part of the map pretty well. The full game arrived today and i booted it up straight away!

Very impressed with the visuals and you are put straight into the action with Nemesis - but don't let that put you off (i too prefer to explore the lovely RE scenery at my own pace!!)

A couple of differences between the main game and the demo so far, ie i spent a little bit too much time looking for the bolt cutters and avoiding picking up the fire hose triggering Nemesis! For those who have played the demo, you need to pick up the hose (does not trigger) and put out the fire THEN you get the cutters.

Another tip

go back an uncrop everything.

go into the room that talks about the 4 circuit breakers, out the door, down the stairs, turn left and search the corpse for the LOCKPICK. Again, double back to open all the yellow locks - don't forget the Toy Shop as you get another 'fancy box' and jewel. Once you have the 3 coloured jewels, double back to the very first safe room and put the jewels into the clock puzzle - you will get 3 rewards.

I have saved my progress at this point and will carry on later tonight.

I didn't much like the original re3 on PlayStation. What's code Veronica like as only remember seeing about an hours worth on a mates dreamcast? :D

Code veronica is awesome, bigger in scale, good story, still has semi fixed cameras.
I started a playthrough on dolphin a few months back and still very playable as it is.

Well in all honesty I expected a full price game to last more than 5 hours.

Having not played the originals and genuinely never really been interested until I was gifted the RE2 remake key for free I simply expected more of the same.

Clearly I was wrong.
