Why no Resi 1 in that list but you have Resi 2 and 2 Remake? Sort it out! :p

I used to have it in there but removed it as it has been so bloody long since I played it I remember very little and as stated the remake is so much bloody better. Where as the remake of resi 2 and 3 imo is not better than the originals.

I'll end up buying it but only after I've finished Last of Us PC :p

Blasphemy. I have not even pre-ordered that one. Will wait until it gets cheaper. Plus I have not played Resident Evil 4 for much longer than Last of Us so in no particular rush for it :)

Demo is great, the game is really fluid, love the gore and the knife is brilliant, you can parry with it then come back with a fatal blow to the neck, then when they're on the floor you can drive the knife into their heads. Amazing details. This is going to be 10/10 and will no doubt surpass the original, which already set the bar so high. Wow. I can't wait for the full release.
Your knife gets damaged to so needs repairing etc. Graphics are stunning. Runs superb. Can't wait! :)

Trying to avoid the thread because of spoilers etc but OMGGgGg the hype!! Could not be more excited!

The dream is to run the PC through the OLED, whilst wearing the jacket and getting my wife to dress as Ashley, saying things like “you look handsome Leon” as I play.

But I stay can’t find out what’s causing the auto crashing with my PC. GPU is back from the manufacturer from an RMA with no faults… for goodness sake! :(

Identifying a PC issue is just the worst.

Could be the RAM. What's your specs? Maybe we can troubleshoot the problem for you before release. Post your problem and how it occurred in another thread and post the link here.

In my experience RAM is the issue a lot of the time. Try running the RAM without xmp at the JEDEC default speed which is usually something like 2660MHz or something like that.

Is the pc rebooting completely without bsod and ctd etc?

If so does the psu click when it happens?

If so the I know the issue, the psu power transients.

Thanks chaps - you’re very kind.

Yes, it’s an issue caused when the 3090 is running at higher settings. Yes, PC is fully rebooting. Sometimes, there is a crash to desktop though.

I ran the usual ram tests a year or so ago and those came back OK.

PSU is 850watt so it should be OK on paper but from my knowledge to date, I expect that is the issue. From memory, the watt usage is in the 600s when gaming, so there is some headroom - I deliberately accommodated for that.

Basically, the possibly culprits are PSU, RAM, motherboard and I guess even the processor but that seems unlikely.

I don’t think there is any way around it other than swapping them out which is going to cost £££ :( … for it potentially to not fix the issue.

Any ideas for next steps? :(

I guess it’s just… but a new PSU and hope for the best.

I didn't mean specifically in this thread but in general to be fair :p

I'm also waiting for SH eagerly, it's probably that RE4 was announced earlier and managed to build more hype around it. We've seen more of it so far and it's just around the corner.

Also, the guys who handle SH2 don't exactly have a stellar track record (they're actually based in my hometown, mentioned that in the SH thread, I think:P).

Hoping both games deliver.

Will download later for both pc and ps5, I'm worried about gray blacks on pc but if it's OK then it will be a pc pre order. I don't understand why this is such an issue on pc.

It's the dev team really, it's not like they can't do it right, because they did it perfectly on Res Evil Village and RE3 Remake, but they balls it up big time in RE2 remake... RE4 seems much better but it's still not pure black in the darkest of areas like when you first enter the house and get deep inside just before the torch comes into action.

@mrk yup I suspect it’s a power transients issues, the kind of faults I’m getting ties in with this - the 3090 and 850watt PSU combo is probably the culprit; mixed in with my motherboards ability to handle it (which is a taichi razer edition b550 board.

My one doubt though… which is this problem never, ever reproducible from GPU benchmarking exercises?! It only ever seems to occur in real life gaming scenarios. That’s the kicker for me. So odd…

When I had the transients issue it only showed itself with Hogwarts and nothing else, I could benchmark and stress test all day na and no problems, but the moment I played Hogwarts I was getting the reboots. If the PSU relay clicks when it reboots, this will be the exact same issue. If your PSU is a few years old then this would explain it! I solved it on mine by simply getting a HX1000i PSU.

In my case Hogwarts did something with how power is drawn by the GPU to align with the flaky transients resulting in the issue showing itself, whereas other apps and games did not.

Yeh re2 was a complete mess, it totally ruined the look of it. My 3060ti is barley faster than a ps5 so it doesn't really matter what I get it on but pc key is £20 cheaper so i would rather go that route and can customise it a bit more.
