Have to say I like how they have implemented depth of field in this, probably the first game to do it fairly accurately, like as objects get towards the edge and fall into foreground, they get out of focus how you would expect them to:

I don't think the vast majority of people care for or even notice this level of detail lol but to me these things matter

When I had the transients issue it only showed itself with Hogwarts and nothing else, I could benchmark and stress test all day na and no problems, but the moment I played Hogwarts I was getting the reboots. If the PSU relay clicks when it reboots, this will be the exact same issue. If your PSU is a few years old then this would explain it! I solved it on mine by simply getting a HX1000i PSU.

In my case Hogwarts did something with how power is drawn by the GPU to align with the flaky transients resulting in the issue showing itself, whereas other apps and games did not.

Very interesting. In which case, I’m off to buy the most expensive PSU I can buy I guess…?!

Straight out of the jacket fund…

P.s. thank you very much for your kind help.

I was going to get the slightly cheaper RMX1000 but it was on a 48hr delivery whereas the HX1000i was available for delivery the very same day. This swung the vote and now I have a PSU that will outlast basically everything in my PC right now lol.

Corsair to have a new range of PSU which are ATX 3.0 called RMx SHIFT. Worth looking into that maybe?

My understanding is ATX 3.0 PSU are designed to deal with spikes in power better and also going ATX 3.0 will be more future proof for future GPU upgrades.

Just go for a good Platinum/Titanium efficiency rated PSU, will be well controlled for transients/spikes etc regardless of ATX3 or not. ATX 3 ones currently are very expensive iirc too.

had a quick go, seems to run ok but u need to bump the camera sensativity to about 90% max, and the aim camera about half or 3 quaters up. Also i think i was getting stutter with vram to 8gb option even tho i got 12gb on my card, so i turned it down from 8 to 4 and seemed to get rid of the stutter. Fps was steady at 60 maxed out apart from the vram thing bug. Looked great but i only got it to look at the gfx not to play really as cant stand res evil games :p hoped it would be a nice benchmark but i couldnt see a benchmark option anywhere.

also i couldnt rebind keys for the side of mouse to do walk, it just wouldnt let me confirm it kept going back to a keybind box thing and removing what i did

This game begs to be used with a controller. I never understand why people use K&M for these type of games, they're couch controller games. I grew up with M&K since the 90's but I detest using it on third person story driven games. You also don't like Resi Games?! what!

It woks much better with kbm, especially mouse look. Much more precise.

E as crouch by default was weird though, changed back to C as it should be.

I've tried both, M&K is ok, but definitely better with a controller for me. I see what you mean about aiming precision though.

Playing with kb&m myself. Makes it easier getting those headshots :)

Will probably do two playthroughs. Can use controller on the second.

For the sake say £50 one might as well go ATX 3. I would.

A quick search shows the Corsair PSU's I mentioned are £160 for the 850w and around £200 for the 1000w.

Now i have a machine gun. Ho Ho Ho:D

Saw a post on the steam forums. If you discard everything from your inventory before entering the village, the metal grate covering the well is gone.
Down below is the tmp, some ammo and a kitchen knife.

Getting to it is easy, you can sneak right past the old woman on the right (seems to be blind) go up the hill then take a left.

It is also unlocked and in your inventory for further play throughs.

I wonder what other secrets might be hidden?

Maybe stealth killing everyone, or knifing every chicken or rat.

After a bit of shopping around, I have a 1200W Corsair RM1200x SHIFT arriving tomorrow. That is lubriciously overpowered and of the 3.0 spec, so should hopefully work.

Downside with that model is that it doesn't have the native single cable recommended for some 4000 series GPUs, but an adaptor cable... but that's a problem for future Nitefly should I ever upgrade and I guess it's only a problem if the adaptor cable doesn't work....!

The real test then... can it survive Resident Evil 8 maxed out... stay turned for tomorrow's results :o

(It's so not going to fix it...)
