Resident Evil 7!!!

Just used all my shotgun shells in the fight with
Jack and the chainsaw to get the final dog head. Most the shots bounced off his saw/cutter thing and the pistol bullets were more effective - shooting through the V of the saw to his head.
Of course I only realised this once I'd wasted all my shells. Is it worth loading my last save and doing the fight again to preserve the shotgun ammo? Is there plenty more shells after that to be found?

nope, I used everything I had. even threw by trainer at the screen trying to hit him.

Just let him kill you, then you get the shells back. But you are like very early game, you will get many more shotgun shells.

I died my most deaths in that fight. First time I did not realise there was a chainsaw for me and run out of ammo, then got chainsaw and died 3 times trying to open the door with it before killing him, then a couple of more deaths while fighting him with it. In the end when I worked out what you had to do, it was actually **** easy.

In fact, I did not die at all on my second playthrough of the whole game today :)

Im torn on this one - Love the atmosphere, the level design and exploring.

Dont like the enemies - they are bullet sponges, especially the bosses so far have felt clunky and compared to the atmosphere of the game more funny than scary which is a shame (just did marguerite).

Overall great though, loving exploring.

Ok sound advice guys. I actually managed to kill him first time but I'm going to put that down to a fluke given the difficulty you guys had - no guarantees I'll get past him so easily again if I was to try and reload so I won't bother. I'm just loving the one shot kills with the shotgun...

This is a good game, had a few good jump scares already. Graphics are really good, performance is also very good.

Enjoying this , very good resident evil game.

First Patch Out!

The following issues have been addressed in today's update:
Fixed an issue where saving game progress was no longer possible if the player deleted the local save file while Steam Cloud has been turned off.

Fixed an issue where HDR mode is turned back to ON upon app launch if the player quits the prior game session in full screen mode and with HDR set to OFF.

Really enjoying this, very Resi like first person view step in the right direction for the series.

Would love if the Resi 2 remake was first person view.

Yeah, I was wondering this earlier too, I get the feeling it will be first person view. Not fussed either way really though. I just want to play it. I hope they do a good job on it like they did when remastering the orgininal where they added a few things :D

people are doing it in under 2 hrs now, makes you laugh really, 30 quid for a game that can be finished in less time than a movie lol

Gone back to sRGB, and turned the Brightness down a bit, as i could see both coins on that setting (was set halfway, i think, im sure i adjusted it at the start though), anyway, now on 3rd up, and can barely see the left coin, 2nd up, i can't see it at all, but looks too dark. :p

To be fair that is a speed run. On average playing at normal pace I think it is around 10 hours. If you like to explore everything properly on first go, it can be a lot longer.

Not to mention it is the type of game that is rewarding for completing it multiple times as you get unlocks. I have already completed it two times myself :)

Was well worth the £23.74 I paid. I remember paying £20 for Resident Evil 6 on release. That took me 22 hours to complete, but boy did it feel like a chore after a while. What a waste of £20 that was in the end. I will never play it ever again. Where as Resident Evil 7 will get many more playthroughs over the years. But more importantly I had fun playing it, felt satisfied. Quality over quantity ;)

2 hours gameplay at 16:9 only?

seen you lot coming !:D

Still waiting on 21:9 are you? lol

I have had 16+ hours fun already at 4K ;)

SRGB and lowered brightness 2-3 notches myself :)

It looks great, but i'm struggling to move the framerate to 60hz, It won't let me go past 29.97hz for some strange reason, Turned the resolution down to 1080P and still no luck to get it to 60hz. Hmmmmmm

Just tried mine via 4K tv. It set it to 29hz or something but when I set the red to 4K I could chose the refresh rate like normal! When I got in game it was like slow motion though so I set frame rate to variable and now it's fine! Weird! I imagine you have played 4K games before at 60 just fine?

If you haven't tried any 4K games on the to yet, you need hdmi 2.0 to support 4K at 60
