Resistance is Futile - AMD RX 9070 Borg Armada - OcUK Kings of Stock (1000's in stock)

AMD had a chance at an easy win here. They could have enforced the MSRP easily enough. The card is only compelling at the £569 price. Without that 'discount' you're approaching 5070ti FE price.

Last I checked a 5070 Ti FE doesn't exist.

So there's no charitable trickle of MSRP cards on the Nvidia store. Just 5070 Ti's approaching a full grand in regular shops.

Not yet, no, but I'm in no hurry to get screwed. Just because Nvidia is screwing us, doesn't mean I'm willing to let AMD screw me a little less. Both companies should be punished for their anti-consumer practices, and AMD could have made it so these particular models like the pulse continued to receive the discount.

EDIT: and just to clarify, I am in no way blaming ocuk. I know this is something not in their control.

Think we need to just accept where we are on their priorities. I don't think pc gamers are the consumers that provide them the most profit.

A community of nerds with playing Cyberpunk are more of a charity case to them really. They could be doing better things instead.

From reviews the 5070 ti is more efficient than the AMD counterpart using on average 100w less power for similar performance. 5070ti will pay for itself over time
Gamers nexus video

I looked through the GN review, the 5070 Ti uses less power in all of them but 100W average?

45.6W in FF @ 4K
52.7W in FF @ 1440p
16W in F1 @ 4K
45.5W in F1 @ 1080p
59.4W in DD @ 1440p
101W in SF @ 1440p

100W average is as honest as saying 16W average.

The pictures of the Asrock Steel Legend show coloured fans. Are these RGB LED's or are the fan blades actually coloured plastic?

Think I'm gonna go for the steel legend. Just to match my white case. Though I have no idea what card is better. Just want cheapest decent one really.

On the white version I've seen the fans are RGB. Just plain black on the black version

Apart from some edge cases the vast majority of people would not be able to tell the difference between a 9070XT and a 5080FE at stock.

On the basis that the 5080 costs around 1350 to acquire , the AMD launch price is incredible value on that basis that you'll be actually able to get one.

As for power draw, would you be able to tell without a voltage meter? I doubt many actually care.

Are you putting any measures in place to counter bots or do you feel the volume of stock is enough that it makes not purchases irrelevant?

As my PC neither has a side window nor is in a position to see through one I don't consider the aesthetics of PC components when making a purchase decision - it comes down to bang for buck.

.... which means that I'm going for the Sapphire Pulse 9070 XT.

Even at the previously displayed "10x" plug price for the Sapphire Pulse (£629 as I remember) the 9070 XT was not awful by comparison.
